Yikes. A scary reminder about safety and freak accidents in the garage. Pray for a speedy recovery.

I was lucky enough to get a tour of his garage about 12 years ago. So cool, and he had a cobra there too. Unfortunately, didn’t get to meet the man.

Absolutely. About ten years ago I cleaned the Moraine filters in my Holley, got distracted, and forgot to tighten up one of the fuel fittings. I fired her up and revved it some just to enjoy the sound of my handiwork and then got out to look under the hood. Gasoline was quickly filling up the crevices of my intake manifold and heading to a spill over on to the primary pipes. It was a very close call and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Yeah, I had something very similar. The fuel bowl screws needed tightening after a few cycles. I started it up and walked away for a minute. Came back to the same scene as you, a manifold full of fuel!

Best late show host ever, love his Jay Leno's garage, a real car guy!
Hope he gets better and back soon
