Tommy, I just cleaned up the groups.
|
Something is still hitting the DB...A lot is better, but still work to do. :(
|
Thanks, Brent.
The site initially loads quickly now, but posting and browsing are still unpredictable. If it helps in diagnosis, once the site slows down for any particular transaction, it is slow for everything, including logging in. |
We're saved, Brent is here

Are things working better for folks or are we still hitting issues I am not aware of? |
I was on around 2PM today, Brent, and everything seemed to be fairly brisk until I went to post and 'things' hit a brick wall. After waiting what seemed like one or two minutes, I quit out of the site and tried to come back. The log-on process was abysmally slow, and I quit out of it several times before I finally got back through. Even then, it took the better part of 2 minutes to get the initial page display before logging in.
Something still appears to be amiss. |

You've been missed. This place is much better when you're around and taking an active and participatory role. I remember reading that you had things in life keeping you occupied, hopefully they've all been positively resolved and we can see you on line here and engaged more often. The mods here work very hard to keep things moving in the right direction and they're very good at that. Having you here brings that to yet another level. Lest there be any confusion, I mean that in a very positive and perhaps even celebratory way. It's very good to see you back on here. |
I'll second that 767Jockey ;) A lot of us missed the hey-day (2000-2015), but as they say, 'Better late than never.' The friends I've made, the info. I've gained, are priceless :) I would never have been able to finish my first Cobra (Classic Roadster) without the help & parts our members supplied, a lot of them for free, try that in your Porsche, Corvette, or any other high end club ;) Thank you for getting back on the site and working on the issues. Your wife told me (At Pacific Raceways) tell Brent how much we enjoy this Club, well here you go, we like having you back, and hope you hang with us here, and next year (On the Road) from the PNW Reigon. Cheers Tom.

5:25PM PDT Wednesday. Forum opened to the forum list page right away. "New Posts" button stuck. After about 20 seconds I aborted and tried again. I didn't let them time out on their own since from experience a retry will often get through. Fourth time it said there were no topics (which is true), last 24 hours topics opened right away...

Well...
...it took about a minute to load the main page when I opened the site this evening. As others have said, we appreciate you looking into it, Brent!
PS I got a "Connection was reset" error while trying to post this... |
Friday PM. No issues during several visits yesterday and today.
Edit: Ha! Got this during the post of this reply: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 19345809 bytes) in F:\Inetpub\wwwroot\clubcobra\forums\network\functi ons_network.php on line 341 |
Brent, I have been around here a looong time, excuse my twisted TX humor
Glad to see you are still here too, old guys rule... |
I spent 22 years in IT. The site performance is very erratic. Some days it loads within a few seconds, others up to 10 seconds. Once in the site, certain links like "for sale", load extremely fast while others take considerable time to load. Could be many things that cause this performance degradation including how the site is constructed, hardware considerations, etc. There are times when the site refuses to load entirely. This performance has been consistent for quite a while now. Best of luck in your troubleshooting.

About the only trouble I have ran into is when I submit a post. I get a long error message and then when I back out of that I find that the post was posted. This is what I get and I got it on this post. But when I hit the back button it shows the post as ready to submit and when I do that it tells me it is a duplicate post and eventually gets around to the post.

Greetings!
This is the first day that I've been able to login to the Club Cobra for about a week. Was I temporarily relegated to purgatory, or have others had similar experience with this forum? Reassuring to be back ;) Glen edit: took about 2 minutes for this post to .....be posted |

This is the same issue I have been having while trying to post. If we could get this resolved, I suspect most of the double post issues would go away. |

Brent,
The site has slipped back into slow or no page loads (time outs), slow initial loading and slow viewing and posting. Help ... Using a single mouse click to post this resulted in the following message after a 90 second wait and no posting: "This forum requires that you wait 90 seconds between posts. Please try again in 89 seconds." A second mouse click produced this posting after more than a minute, which I edited to add timing information. Prior to posting it produced the following message: "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 19388494 bytes) in F:\Inetpub\wwwroot\clubcobra\forums\network\functi ons_network.php on line 341" |
