Forum problems
I am so frustrated.... I get this message (see below) almost all of the time now.
What is going on here? Forum heavies / moderators / good guys .....what is the fix? This is frustrating existing members massively and cheesing off potential new members. Look, if we have to pay a subscription to have a more reliable forum, then most here would be willing to chip in. The page cannot be found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please try the following: Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly. If you reached this page by clicking a link, contact the Web site administrator to alert them that the link is incorrectly formatted. Click the Back button to try another link. HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found. Internet Information Services (IIS) Technical Information (for support personnel) Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 404. Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled Web Site Setup, Common Administrative Tasks, and About Custom Error Messages. A response please  Glen edit: if you agree to the above sentiments, then "honk" here and make your voice heard |
Me too.

It has been hit or miss with me and there are popups that I have to close before reading a new post.
|
Add me to the list, sometimes I can get in though the backdoor (Going to Forums)
|
That problem hits the forum frequently. Hit the refresh button until the page comes through. If after a few retries it doesn't I just give up and come back later.
There are other things when posting. Often it appears to hang. Going back and refresh the post is usually there. I always copy my post to the clipboard in case it gets lost. |

As forum members, we should not be paying for the site. We are the product that is being sold to advertisers for money. The money the advertisers provide should be used to maintain the site. If the advertising revenue is inadequate to support the site, then someone associated with the site needs to put their selling shoes on and start selling. This increasingly feels like the site is suffering from the same malaise and lack of attention that has so besmirched the Finishline site and name. The same thing can happen here if the site webmasters continue to expand their indifference to the site and users. When users begin to go away, so to does whatever advertising revenue the site is capable of generating. This can quickly become a runaway sort of phenomena. Think about it. It is real, and it can happen. |
I think I need to accept the reality of the Club Cobra situation.
Owner is just not interested. I'm lucky that I've been here for some time, as have a lot of us. I have benefitted massively with information and advice freely given by knowledgeable and experienced members. I'm approaching the end of my build (some might not think so :D) ....so it's the new guys starting out on builds that stand to suffer the most from the indifference (contempt?) we're experiencing too often. Hope it survives; got to be realistic. Cheers! Glen |

These new pop up ads are really obnoxious. It might be different if they were for something that I might be interested in but not a single one of them is anything but the same kind of junk emails that get sent to the spam folder. I mean, really, "windows driver update .zip file"??? Come on, open that stuff and see just how good your virus protection really is.

He seems to have no interest in maintaining and/or growing the site, yet he refuses to sell it to someone who has interest in doing both. I'll be damned if I'll ever understand that. |

...as with all the other recurring problems. |
Looking into it

Brent - thank you for responding.
Cheers, Glen |
Need a little remote help at the service provider and they are now closed, so more work starting tomorrow.

Thank you, Brent. How do we contact you when these things happen? |
We should beware!
ALSO, has anyone else noticed the proliferation of 'Clubs' that are now registered? Where is the oversight and control? This site is being trashed and there is a growing wariness on my part to logging in lest my computer gets a virus or something worse happens.
