OK, you got my attention!
OK OZ, you got my attention!
Shoot, it's just 6:00 am on January 1, 2003, I click on to my favorite web site for my first Cobra fix of 2003 and I find your post!
I agree, IT"S BIG, but I need your explaination... exactly what is it you are building? Just how literal is your tag line and what is your intended use? Are you actually going to make it 4wd? Pleasure, road or drag race, or off road?
Please understand, you are using basics for your build we do not have in the USA and I have no knowledge of, except it sure appears the finished package should be EXTREMELY POTENT and an attention grabber wherever you go!
I can't wait to see finished/action pictures of this monster Cobra from down under!
Happy New Year, and keep posting!

John, I've edited my message as we posted near the same time... Scott OZVENOM builds some "out there" machinery that others don't have the talent / foresight / balls to build. His AWD twin turbo car will be an amazing sight when it's finished. It's in the early stages at present - the Lexus Quad Cammer is installed, along with the Nissan GTR independent rear. The car is complete and registered, currently in rear wheel drive configuration. I've seen the front diff, turbos, intercooler and plumbing - all ready to go when the time arises. Can you imagine what a 600+hp, AWD, 2200lb Cobra will accelerate like!?! The hood scoop shown is actually mine. I thought it might look a bit smaller after it was painted, but it didn't shrink one little bit!!! I'm running a 90mm throttle body over the top of my MSD distributor which necessitates the radical departure from standard specs.
Anyway - what are you doing awake at 6am on NYD??? Happy New Year!
Scott, I have a proposition for you.
You have done (or will do) the following on my car :
Chassis work
Suspension work
Steering work
Engine mounts
Transmission mounts
Fibreglass work - including the infamous Mount Kosciuszko...
Roll bar and mounts
Custom dashboard
Lift-off front
Brakes
Engine start-up and checking
Seat belts
Seat mounts
Door and boot latch assemblies
A million various fabrication jobs
Complete assembly of vehicle
Complete systems check.
In return, I offer the following:
Spell checking
Advice regarding correct construction of sentences
Punctuation advice, and
Photography tips on minimising glare and reflection....
Don't get all offended and charge me more money for your labour costs now!!!
While I'm here joking about your cheery lack of concern for correct spelling and punctuation, you're probably out in the shed turning up some trick little custom fabricated bits and pieces that'll blow me away the next time I visit. The end result is that while I can type on a computer all day about building Cobras, you're out there actually doing it....

To use an overused word, awesome!
With most kits, making power is not a problem, paring down the weight is not a problem, installing brakes that stop well and a suspension that makes the car handle well are not difficult, either, but traction is always the limiting factor. Not any more. OZ, bring that sucker over here for the Run N' Gun! I can't wait to see how she accelerates with all four tires putting the power down. Incredible work!

extreme cobra's
Well john you probably think we are a litte crazy here in oz. But realy Craig and I are just horse power junkies and cobra nuts so we combine the two .
My ambition is to build a cobra thats as fast as any other but with out putting a zillion bucks into it . Craig will always have more HP than me but my AWD will make up for the short fall with traction .
The running gear i am useing is all nissan skyline the rearend is much the same as the 300zx of fairlady i think its called in the U.S.
the gearbox has a transfercase on the back of it which uses a wet clutch to drive the front diff and is controlled by hydralic pressure apllied to the clutch pack . the whole thing is an unknown package it could be great or could drive like a gt marshmallow. Torque steering all over the road . only time will tell
and yes i want to bring it over for the fling and run and gun.
along with Craigs 800 hp + cobra .
The only problem i want is too much HP.12

Nope!
Oz,
Crazy,no! Resourceful,YES!
I love to see other variations on a theme, & the car could really be something, and we won't know untill you finish it.
Good luck, and keep us posted.

OOh my.
I once met a guy who was planning to put a GMC Cyclone (AWD turbo V6) chassis under a Shell Valley... Makes me wonder if he ever did it.
Your project really peaked my interest! Best of luck!

James - I see you list your silver colour as "Orion". Is that a factory colour on a car? I've seen a couple of photos of your car, and I just LOVE that colour!
