The great thing about any replica is that it can be driven and enjoyed. Original Cobras are just worth too much to drive on a nice Sunday afternoon - they belong in museums and car shows. C.S. had no clue about the "legend" he would become in the future. He was just doing what he HAD been doing for years, putting a big motor in a small car. One day, years later, he woke up one morining and thought to himself,,,,"I can't believe I sold ALL the Coupes".
Legendary as they are there is little doubt in my mind the replica industry has been a MAJOR player in developing the "legend" and "keeping it alive". This take nothing away from C.S. I DO believe he had an awesome vision in 1962 and the gumption to pull it off! My hats off to him. Ernie |
