If they can offer round trips fares from NY to London for $250.00, and San Francisco to Boston for $229.00 due to excess capacity and under the pretense of being competetive...they SHOULD go out of business.
Who in here can't get a flight to where they want to go because all the seats are gone? That's what I thought.
Airlines have done it to themselves. It will all settle down with supply and demand. There will be less of them flying, and prices will go up.
I never felt $49.99 each way was the right price to go anywhere on an airliner. You couldn't walk there for that amount.
We have been spoiled with unrealistic low fares while the Airlines beat each other into black and blue.
9/11 did not help but it also gave them the excuse they needed.
They want my tax money to help them so they can offer another businessman and his company a $69.00 fare to somewhere.
