The sad point is, unless lt's a Honda or Toyota (like the "Fast And The Furious") the film makers ("Gone In 60 Seconds", "Fastlane", "John Doe", etc...) don't realize the reason most people are watching the show is THE CAR!
They always just show the cars pulling up or driving off. What would have happened if the original "Smokey And The Bandit" only had shots of the Trans Am pulling in and taking off? What would have happened if "The Dukes Of Hazzard" didn't have the 69 Charger (and Daisy Duke, but that's another thread...) in it?
In "Gone In 60 Seconds" they only show quick shots of most of the cars. When they do show the Shelby Mustang chase at the end, they have to destroy what little hope of saving the movie by having that "cheesy" car jump (when it makes "The Dukes Of Hazard" car jumps look "real", you know you have a problem).
It's just like the last "Mad MAX", they never realized the success in the early movies was THE CAR.
The sad thing is that they try to "Hollywoodize" the car shots and they make it look piss poor. Where have all of the awesome car chases and Steve Mcqueen's gone...
