Saved a life last night!
This is how accidents happen. It has been raining here in New York every weekend, for the last four or five. I have lost count.Last night (6/10/03) God gave us a break and it was perfect , clear skies 80 degrees and all my Cobra buddies came out to our local cruise night. What a terrific get together.Friends I have not seen in awhile , we swapped racing lies, ogled girls that were way to young for us and just chilled.
AND THEN HE CAME OUT. I saw him first, Fifty something,5'2",135lbs soaking wet, Gucci loafers ,no sox, black silk pajama pants, matching John Gotti knit tee shirt, round Elton John clown sunglasses. The consumate Cobra judge!
He passes the first Three Cobra's all Superformance ,mildly sniffs at them.He looks at mine and lets go.! In a loud clear voice he announces my wheels are wrong ,the gap in my door s are not uniform and they shouldn't make cars like this. For a brief moment I tried to remember if we had the vague law from Texas. You know, the one where you can go before the judge and plead the " Your honor he needed killing defense". I visualized just snapping this little twerks neck and how good it would feel.I NEED TO SEE THE MOVIE ANGER MANAGEMENT. I held onto the fact that my wheels were wrong, the gap in my doors were not uniform and somebody probably beat the **** out of this guy in the school yard many times before and it didn't do any good then.SO I SAVED HIS LIFE AND DIDN'T THROTTLE HIM.
Thanks Brent for giving me a forum to RANT.Wouldn't it be better if we didn't all have something good to say it 's better to say nothing ! Some of us have blood ,sweat and tears in these cars and idiots who have collections that are too valuable to drive might want to take note of that.

Where did you guys get together? I heard Vito was going to Hicksville, but I got home to late to try to find out where.
PS did you tell him that you didn't see his skinny a** at Westhampton or anywhere else.
Thanks Joe

You should have asked him where his Cobra was!
I mean if the SOB was such a critic he must own an original CSX car.... Right?

Best reply would have been "Really, so lets go look at yours". Bet he cant even spell wrench. Remember, envy comes in many forms.

Last weekend, I overheard a guy as he walked by my car telling his friend,
"That's just one of those ****ty kit cars, it's nothing to look at, probably doesn't have the original 429 in it."

It is sorry to heard of people like this. Is this person a 'regular'?
Will you have an oppertunity to interact with him again?
I understand that there is a new skin treatment out, You get a pi$$ed off guy in a cobra to drag you around behind the car with a chain.
Perhaps you should offer this new skin treatment.
LOL!!!

Lounge Lizard
I say squash the bug!
The nerve of some people. Any one who dresses like that has to have some issues? Could it be his height? His tiny 'wanker'? Impotence? Who knows.
Why couldn't they be well adjusted like the rest of us
I had a guy really scoff at my car because it was a 'kit car' and not real. Later follows him back to some POS Neon or similar $hit box and like a child on Christmas asked him if that was a REAL POS

Everything about my car is wrong. When I built it I didn't want it to look like the originals and thought that would stop some of the critics. Besides I like my own personal touches. My door gaps are far from perfect, as was some of the originals before people restored them, I have the wrong roll bar, wheels, collectors, motor, paint, and frame. When some guy like that starts on mine I just tell him when he gets his car to do it like he wants as that was what I did. You can't afford to get mad at these fools or you would be mad all the time. One guy once asked my why my doors wouldn't open like the originals did. I told him they do open and his reply was " They can't, you don't have door handles on the outside like the originals did." If anything can bring out some stupid comments it is havig a Cobra Replica. Enjoy the car and getting together and forget the idiots.

Bill,
Next time ask him if his husband likes cobras too. When are you guys going to West Hampton again? I am going to try to hook up with Club Cranky for the Watkins Glen event in July (21-22).
fm
p.s. I just had an encounter with someone really snooty/stupid related to cobras, just let it roll or give him a wedgy, but don't let the blood boil!

Bill...sounds like you had a whole lot of wardrobe to pick on .
Excuse me ? Are those shoes John Gotti or Wannabe ?
Those real silk pajamas or did you steal your neighbor's drapes?
Would you like to sit in my Cobra ? I can get the pedal blocks out for you ! You probably own a Caddy but I bet your body would fit in my trunk ! Hey....Know why I painted it yellow ? That would be the color of your underwear after you went for a ride ! Then again....looks like a puddle by your feet right now !
You need a Pamper change bud...or perhaps a direction to start walking ! Hah !! What a butthead.
Andrew......If the weather is on I will be at Bald Hill next Tuesday.
I believe 401K will also be there. Maybe we should ALL head back to Sears though !
