Default Posting Pictures in the Gallery

I have been trying to post pictures in the gallery but am having problems. Seems that every picture I want to post is over the 300K size limit. Most of them are 650K.

Is there a way to get larger file pictures posted in the gallery?

I must say I am pretty computer literate, but this is driving me crazy. Will take any advise one can give.

Jim,

Brent or Ron ( computerworks ) would be the only ones that can change the gallery size limit. Why can't you resize your pictures to the 300K limit ?

Ron

I have tried that a couple of times, but the picture becomes very small. I was told that is what happens when you use a high pixal camera. Thanks I will contact Brent or Ron.

Jim-
It is a 2-step process. First, change the canvas size to 640x 480, then save it as a different file name (otherwise you won't have your original unmodified picture). When you are saving the picture, you should be able to set/adjust the file compression so that you can make it small enough to fit within the limits.

Even though the file will look small on your screen, it should be fine when post it to the gallery (at least that's how it works for me anyway).

Good luck and I look forward to checking out your pics.

Chaplin is correct. I was having the same trouble and I found out after much frustration that my photo program in the other computer has only one way to resize a file and no way to set the compression percentage. Ron ( Computerworks ) recommended the photo program that I have on this computer and then told me how to find the option to set the compression percentage and it works great. I am no photo expert by far and am still reading the manual and trying to figure out just what all I can do and how to do it with this program. I haven't even tried the animation part yet. Maybe your program is like my other one and 640 X 480 or whatever will just compress the file a set amount. My old program would only resize by pixels and this one does it by inches, pixels, percent, and centemeters. Good luck.

Ron

Paint Shop Pro is a great image editing program with tons of features, good ease of use for beginners, and it's relatively inexpensive - around $100. It has a nice "wizard" for creating web-ready images. Check it out...http://www.jasc.com/products/paintshoppro/

RawCobra,

I am using the Paint Shop Pro 8 which comes with the Animation Works bundled on the same CD. As you said, it is a great program and I am still trying to figure out all the things it will do. Maybe in a week or so I will have enough nerve to try an animation.
