Default Disappointing

I was suprised and disappointed about the spraying the car with debris comment. But, I was waiting for Hal to reply. His reply that he has had enough is even more disappointing.

Perhaps we could take things less literal and if we have a question, ask, don't assume.

Happy trail Hal. Visit us soon.

Thumbs down

Hal will be missed, it is a sad sad day for ClubCobra.

I hope sometime in the future we get another "chapter" about the "great stroker".

I don't believe for a second he would do anything to harm anothers car in ANY way. The criticism, in my opionion, was unwarranted and obviously hurtful to all of us.

I think I will go out this afternoon and find a Porsche so I can spray the side of that car with "old dinosaurs". If I'm lucky, the Porsche owner will grin and respond in kind!

Default Nice going.....

DORKS! Hal definitely livened the place up with his story telling and I appreciated each and every episode. Probably a good thing your selling yours Bill, wouldn't want any road debris to get on it anyway from a passing car.

I don't quite get it. If it was me, I would not be proud, nothing happened.

If he had raced the Porsche and won, then it would be a story, but peckling (if that's a word) your own fenders and the Porsche with stones sounds silly to me. . .

I toyed with a Boxter with my 99 C5 for a while, before I put him away as I waved, now that was fun. . .

I'll have to find his big brother when the Cobra is ready and broken in. . .

Bill, Evan, rismoes,

Put a cork in it. You guys have said enough, caused enough damage and pain.

Number 1:
It was HAL, not some "newbie", show some respect for a senior member, now FORMER member thanks to you guys shooting off your mouth.

Number 2: It was a STORY, next time one of your friends tells a "fishing story" while your sharing a beer, yell out LIAR while your in the bar. See how your friend and your OTHER friends will like that!

You guys OWE Hal a big time apology.

Ernie

EDIT:
I feel bad about chewing out my friends for their posts. I take no pleasure in it. You guys know I have supported you in the past and will in the future. Right now, Hal is the one who needs support.

Hal,

On behalf of CC, I apologize and that's only worth a nickel since many do not realize the potential loss. People, if you are going to push what I consider the line, at least meet who you are posting about. Hal has my utmost respect and has volunteered more tech info than many of you in this thread. He has saved me hours troubleshooting an old issue with my old "whatever". What a shame. If you saw his involvement in the Superformance forum, you would be awed. Hal's stories have caused many of us to grab the keys and go, or change our oil, or improve our cars, or whatever.

TC, truly saddened. Let's see who the men really are, who apologize.

This is one more example of when any person on this forum makes a comment about doing any little burnout or "tap" of the throttle with any car or person within 1000 yards, the "thou art holy" group comes out and talks their trash. Why do you guys even own a Cobra? I think you all have been watching to many movies. I would say there are more "street" Cobra owners on this forum than you "preacher race track" Cobra owners. Why don't you all join a "all racer" Cobra forum and do your preacing there!

Bandit, I'd love to see them come to Road Atlanta and compare track times.

Bill S.

Bill I have the perfect Cobra for you

Guys PLEASE READ THE POST AND COMPREHEND before you post your dribble about throwing rocks. Hal stated he bliped the throttoe and the sidepipes threw debris and unburnt dinosaur on the Porsche. That was a little toungue in cheak as we all know that the sidepipes will throw very little if any debris and if they do it will be at ankle level.

Hal please do not leave.

Bill you are out of line and this is starting to sound like the old lets get rid of Meat threads or I will take my toys and go home.

Sorry to see Hal has to feel like he has to leave because of some unwarranted comments---everything posted here is not by any stretch of the mind always construed as "LITERAL"

Some of you sound like PC politicians--sheesh

Hal: GREAT story, as are all of your postings! Sorry you took some "holier-than-thou" crap from some of the posters here. SOME people (you know who you are!) just have no sense of humour. Sad. Come on, people, lighten up! We, as a forum, are at such a great loss if Hal Copple leaves this forum. Unfortunately, we all have to take the bad with the good. Just my not-so-humble opinion!

See, this is the problem, nobody wants to look at it as it was the wrong thing to do if it was true. All everybody wants to do is give one giant group hug and be done with it. Reality sucks, if you cannot stand it, that is your problem. If Hal leaves because he is so disgusted by my viewpoint, then I am truly sorry. Respect is indeed a two way street, you give it in these cars, you get it in return.............As far as my initial comments, I was basing all of them as if what he posted were indeed true (why would he post anything but the truth), in which case, I still stand behind my original comments to this thread...................Remember, put yourself in those same shoes.....No better yet, put yourself in the shoes of the Porsche owner (again, if it was all true)....Either you get it, or you don't.............

Touchy, Bill?

How many times have you thought of doing what Hal only suggested he did--for real to some guy in his hot car?
Think about it

I'm at a loss for words. I'll miss Hal's stories, but I won't miss the few folks who obviously type before thinking. Same song, different verse. Maybe these cars are evil?
