Oh, almost forgot ! 289s had the reputation of being much more "traffic friendly" and easier to drive/handle. In fact, in one of my Cobra books, author (Dave Friedman, I think) said that although staff all had access to entire Cobra stable, nearly all gravitated to the 289 after trying the 427.
