Default Nose bra for Cobras?

Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer for a nose bra for a Cobra? I think I may have seen one somewhere. I would like to either buy one or have somebody make one for a Superformance.

Only place I know of, where a good question can go totaly south, or up two hills.................................

I do not think that the body style lends its self to a bra The bumps up front are to big

Keep the shinny side up, or pushed up.....?

You guys forgot about the ubiquitous sports bra-good for the Cobra that may have had too much chemical enhancement while flexing it's muscles in it's heyday.

I saw a picture of one on an Aussie Cobra, it did look a little odd, but not bad! I got SO many paint chips/nicks at the race track I've thought of getting one myself!

I got the same type of responses when I enquired about a bra for cobras..seems a lotta guys here think they are Jay Leno or Johnny Carson... (drum rool and cymbal now please) front end paint protection, (even a skimpy one, here come more jokes) is a great idea here in Washington state where we have a lot of road debris especially in the spring from the winter mess.. and from the sloppy road crews around here...

I would advise against any kind of a bra on any car.

Having seen many cars traded in through the years, I can tell you this much. Most cars that had a bra for a long time, has the paint fade differently all over the car as compared to the portion protected by the bra.

Second: The dirt that gets behind the bra, will constantly sand away the paint due to the buffetting of the bra in the wind.
Most people do not remove the bra often enough to clean behind it. So the bra stays, dirt and moisture gets behind it, and more damage is inflicted on the car than a few chips.

My opinions only.

Juan,
I heard Turk use this same logic on the coeds when we were in Oxford Ohio at Miami University. That language thing REALLY works. He also used the line about being the "talent employment coordinator" for Hooters. Very effective!

Turk,

It appears that you are an authority on bras of all sorts but what about the stick-on gumballs? How long can they be left on a car before they have to be removed to prevent fading.? Any good rule of thumb?

Not intending to high-jack this thread - but "Oxford Ohio at Miami University". It's a long way from CA, but that's where my daughter went to school on a softball scholarship. Not much of a softball powerhouse, but she got a great education!

I don't think dirt is a problem behind a well adhered gumball.
I was told, not to put any stickers of any sort, not until the paint has cured well.

If you leave it in place for a long time, the fading of the protected area differently than the rest of the car is still a problem.

I wouldn't use a bra either. I kinda like that free unrestrained feeling without one. haha...

When I moved back from Atlanta to CA I installed the cover on my boat. I drove about a 1000 miles that way and I decided to pull it off for the dry weather. I noticed a scratch ring around the side of the boat where the cover fit the tightest. Luckily is was gelcoat, a bit tougher than paint, and I was able to buff it out. That was the first and last time I ever pulled with the cover on. I would suggest a clear "Protective Shield" which is sold by Griot's Garage it is made by 3M. You buy this in 2 to 4" wide strips and apply it to the front end,fenders, etc, to protect them from rocks and such. I am going to try it on my Cobra once I get it. the website is:

Hello to all, this DV's son. This is my first post so bear with me. I usualy just lurk in the shadows and listen and watch. In response to your query about a bra for a cobra. I run a franchise operation here in Columbus, Ohio called Mobile Appearance Reconditioning Services, aka M.A.R.S. There is a new product out on the market that is called Miracle Shield. This Miracle Shield is a clear vinyl cover that molds to the front of any car and is virtually invisible. It adheres with the use of a mild soap and water mix and stretches to match the contours of the car. It does not fade the paint and can be removed with a little bit of work. I would not suggest ever taking it off because you would have to measure and recut it again. It is not reusable. It can be ordered in a large roll and cut to fit the specs of each individual car. I can get it cut too match a specific vehicle, but I am pretty sure that no one has spec'd a cobra front end and cut a design yet. The prefabed cutting process requires a type of cad design and a lot of measuring. If you have the patience and time, you could get a roll of this shield and cut it out to match your front end. This stuff can be laid down anywhere on your car...rocker panels, door jambs, front end, quarters where the hard plastic chip guards are usually placed. The sky is the limit because this stuff is invisible. I have a couple dealer accounts where they put this stuff on their brand new vehicles and jack the price $1500.00. I have to go along with Turk on this issue. I had a bra special built for my Cobra when I first finished it and I was only going to have it on for long trips. To make a long story short, after two trips I could see where the braw was starting to rub against the paint from wind and this was a custom made one that was supposed to stay down and not move at all. A few more trips and I would have had the front paint looking as if it had been gone over with a fine sand paper in places. I sold the braw to another person who later complaioned about the same problem and threw it away.

Thank you all for your comments and ideas. I saw a Corvette with what looked like a Spandex material nose bra. Unfortunately I did not get to talk to the owner.

Anyone knows who would be able to make a custom nose bra of such material?

A COBRA BRA WOULD BE A SIZE DOUBLE E.

COACH MIKE HAD INVINISHIELD PUT ON THE FRONT OF HIS COBRA. THE GUY ALSO PUT PIECES ON THE DOORS WHERE YOUR ARM REST. A PIECE WHERE THE HARD TOP TOUCH THE BODY. AND ROCK GUARDS ON THE REAR FENDERS. COST ABOUT $500 INSTALLED.

I ORDERED THE ROCK GUARDS AND PUT THEM ON MYSELF. $27, VERY NICE.
