Question Spring Fling + Shamrock question

Did anyone see who made the trailer the guys from Shamrock were using (with the tilting lift/platform that allowed two cars in a 24(??)or 26 foot trailer??????

Thanks,

Bill S.

PS: Anyone take pictures of the inside of this trailer???? if so, can you either post or send them to me..............

They made it. I took pictures of it and made one when I got home. I did it a little different than they did. I used a 11 foot aluminum ramp. Back the first car on and lift the front. They had 6" blocks under the rear tires then lifted the front of the car. If you don't raise the rear of the car the gas tank hits before the car is high enough. The ramps lift the front and rear both. I almost made one before Spring Fling and didn't, after seeing it was easy. I have a 26 foot with a tool box and work bench in the front. They had a 24 foot without anything in the front.

Got your pictures, have any others, along with material list, engineering blue prints, etc, let me know.

Thanks again,

PS: Anyone else have something similar, let me know....

I would also be interested in that info. Saw the trailer at the fling, didn't have the presence of mind to take any photos. Thanks!

Hi Bill,

John Crawford here. I made the lift you saw at the spring fling. Quite simple of a design but I along with a friend who did all the welding designed the lift but I got the Idea from the way we get the cars from South Africa. One thing that was important about the lift was that it needed to be stable from lateral shift as well as front to back stability and that is how we designed it. I think I could have sold 10 of them at the fling but I'm not into fabricating lifts....Only selling great Cobra's from South Africa. Shamrocks! We got a great buy on the trailer and didn't really want an extremely large trailer so the only way we could carry two cars to the events was to design this lift. There were no lifts like this for trailers on the market. The only problem is if you have a car complete and lift it up that much, you could spill fluids out of the Transmission tail shaft or brake fluid out of the reservoir. I like the post after yours with the aluminum ramp thing. We did build our lift for that trailer and an easy de-installation for shows. Good luck building your lift. Any questions feel free to email me at Shamrockcobra427@aol.com
Thanks,
John Crawford

Hi all,

Just went looking for the trailer here.

What a great event the Fling is.

I know a few Aussies have been over so may try and get there next year. Just returned from the Run N Gun but it clashes dates with our Aussie Cobra nationals next year.

Cheers

Bernie
