Hyde D. Baker is correct when he states that they are ALL a mess.
We don't have all the CA type problems in Florida, but here you can go to one office and title your car as a '65, then go to a different office and be told that it must be titled as year of manufacture, i.e. 2003.
The MCO actually works against you here if you want a '65. You should keep your MCO in your pocket and just tell them you built it from scratch. Live and learn.
