Lew,

I can answer that. Yes you can or if you like you can do it through Pay Pal. Mention you are a CC member and you want your contribution directed to the Automotivation Program. Also, I found out my company matches all charitable contributions of it's employees (as long as the receipient is a 501 (c) non profit organization) up to a maximum of $5000.00 (more than I can do by the way). So my contribution will be doubled by my company DCP Midstream.

I made a donation the middle of last month and also received a very nice note from Janis R. monday.

I had made a notation that I would like it directed to the Automotivation Program.
I didn't think about mentioning Club Cobra though.A email to Janis yesterday and she said I would me put on the CC List.

If anyone else overlooked this, she will gladly correct it.

I too received a nice thank you from Janis Roznowski on Monday as well. I think she is doing a very important job for us and those returning soldiers.

Just got a very nice note from Janis and a form for the tax deduction. Wish that I could have given more, but there's a VA hospital here that needed some help too.

Whatever your thoughts on this war, please try to support our troops however you can whenever you can.

Don't let them think they are being forgotten as some were in the past.

These young men and women always have been, and always will be, the true treasure of the United States.

Not sure if other Dallasites caught this,
I donated my 2 PGA Championship Tickets to a local radio station as a giveaway in return for a donation to Automotivation. Highest donation wins the tix.
The Ticket, Sports Radio 1310 has the highest rated afternoon drive time ratings in DFW. I met them at their remote this afternoon and talked up the program. They were impressed and agreed to give away the tickets on the air to the highest donation to Automotivation.
Response was great and got a passionate 2 minute commercial for the cause.
I post this not to toot my own horn, believe me the wife would tell you there's no horn to toot, but maybe this will spur other ideas of how to get others to contribute to this noble cause. Everyone has SOMETHING they can donate (product or service) that would be valuable to others.
PS- I couldn't attend the PGA due to my stepfather being ill.

Default in awe!!!!

MIles, thank you from me and all of the soldiers. Things are growing rapidly on this and more news will be coming shortly. I am humbled now that my blood pressure is down and I see support for these heroes.

To all of you that have helped...I cannot express my thanks now but will do so soon with an update on all that has happened in the last month.

I am in awe of all of the support from this great country that I love so dearly and the fact that I have had the blessings to contribute to this cause.

Thank you all

Jay

Default Thank you Coke

I have just added two photos to my gallery of the most amazing donation to Operation Comfort. This box was painted by one of Coke's employee's on his own time to honor brave soldiers. Coke has furnished two boxes and all of the product these guys need. Thank you Coca Cola and Scott Slocum ... all of the guys from Coke who did this!

Also more to come from some TV shows and corporate sponsors. Stay tuned here, it is growing. We just had another motor home donated for transport. West Texas Cruisers and their great contribution of money and tools.

for those who gave...thank you! If you haven't given...thank you for giving to your favorite cause. These wounded soldiers need a lot of help.

Jay

Jay,

We haven't heard anything for several months. I asked on another thread if Operation Comfort bought something large with the contributions, or if the money went to miscellaneous things. Just curious how the fellas are doing there...........

On Veterans Day I called my Uncle Phil, who was with the Army Air Corps on the Aleutians and Uncle Bob who was with the Army on Corregidor when the "Necessary War" started. I was so happy to hear that they are both are doing fine and in good health and spirits. It also pleased me that we all agreed that the best thing we can do in Iraq is to bring our troops home as soon as is practical.

Which reminded me of our vets at Automotivation. And Jay was kind enough to remind me of their contact info, so I could drop them a line and let them know we still think of them. If I hear just what they have done with our donations, I'll let you know. I am confident the money is being spent wisely, as opposed to much of what is happening to our tax dollars these days. Peace, Rich.

I am sure the money is being spent wisely. I was just curious on how they are doing, and in what way our help has helped them.

The car show sounds like a great idea, and right along the lines of what they are doing..............

Default Here's an update

The soldiers are doing great and more of them are enrolling in the Automotivation program. A lot of good things have been happening from all sectors.

Just some of the corporate and personal involvement

Coca Cola and the boxes that have been pictured are now in the new break room that most of the cash donations from this site were used to build. It is now almost finished with textured walls, two showers and air conditioning. All that is left to do there is finish the floor and we are working towards that now.

Genuine Hot Rod Harware has shipped tons of their memorabilla to the shop but I haven't seen just how much but have been told it is impressive.

Speed Zone has donated booths, tables and stools and a pool table.

West Texas Cruisers gave almost $6,000 worth of tools from the wish list including a bead blaster and a stud welder. These tools were purchased from a tool rep at cost. They pledge more.

Royal Purple has given oil, money and a couch and chair set plus are introducing the program to everyone that will listen.

AER manufacturing here in Dallas gave a new Ford Racing stroker motor for the Bronco product which is progressing.

Vfw chapter from west Texas sent many of the soldiers to Sema just recently to promote the project and meet with various donors.

Ongoing talks with numerous donors are continuing both in the corporate and private sectors. In January I meet with the producer of the "Powerblock" TV series to do a segment on the soldiers and this program. Also to possibly "overhall" Nick McCoy's el camino which is now in San Anonio from Reading Penn. thanks to another CC member who wishes to remain unknown.

The main project that the guys are working on is the Ford Bronco and the Mercury Marauder. More are planned as time and resources allow.

All of your thoughts and prayers for these heroes are sincerely appreciated. As to the funds being spent wisely, all I can tell you is that Janis and Jane are the two best and most dedicated people I have ever know. I would trust them everything that I own.

There are some downsides with the soldiers, mostly health related but one story I hate more than anything. One badly burned soldier just lost custody of his children because a judge agreed with the ex wife that it was too traumatic on the children to see their father as he is now. Some people just aren't worth the air that they breath.

Jay

OOPS I almost forgot that at RUN N GUN last moth the participants and the spectators passed Hershal's hat and donated an amazing $1,313. They deserve a hand.
