Default Kirkham Registry information needed.

Attention all present and prior Kirkham owners.

In conjunction with Kirkham Motorsports, , the Kirkham Owners Club site, is gathering current information on the present and prior owners of any Kirkham Motorsports product.

This information will be collected and published in a Registry format, both online and in printed form.

The club site has used a "beta" online Registry, but some software quirks have caused it to be taken offline.

That will be fixed with a new version, but rather than wait for the online version, we need to begin collecting information now.

If you are a present or prior owner and you would like your information to be included in the Registry, please send an e-mail to registry@kmsac.com

Please use your KMP number as the Message Subject.

Present owners should include personal data (contact info) and dates and details about your car.

Prior owners should include dates of ownership and any specific items of interest about the car while it was in your possession. If you are the original owner, please indicate that.
As a prior owner, information on who you sold the car to would be helpful.

Very important - If you are a present or prior owner and would NOT like your personal data included for publication, please send a message indicating this fact.

It is very important that we get this raw data as quickly as possible....so, don't delay....dash out a quick message.

The Online Registry will have provisions for photos and more comprehensive data, and we can always get that from you at a later date.
We need the data now to begin scaling the project for publication....again send info to registry@kmsac.com

I would be glad to answer any questions....thanks

KMP001 Crown Coachworks
KMP012 Poland, unexpectedly
KMP013 not used, the Poles thought it would bring bad luck to make the car.
KMP019 Poland, unexpectedly
KMP020 Thomas Kirkham Jr. , completed extremely close to an original car. Original suspension, brushed aluminum finish. Thomas told Kirkham workers one day he loved flames...so, when he left for lunch, his car got "flamed." Thomas drives it at Kirkham events. It has open pipes and so David Kirkham refuses to drive it. Dave Dralle built the motor. FE 427--427 cubic inches, iron block side oiler with all the right pieces.
KMP046 David Kirkham, completed extremely close to an original car. Original suspension, brushed aluminum finish with "Ghost Stripes." David used to drive this car at all Kirkham events but now prefers to drive the later, lighter cars. Dave Dralle built the motor. FE 427--stroked to 454 cubic inches, iron block side oiler with all the right pieces. At Kirkham's last track event David left the keys in the ignition and anyone could drive it who wanted to drive it.
KMP0204 Donated by Kirkham to benefit the hospital at Ground Zero which cared for victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Car was auctioned off on eBay during the New York Auto Show. Many Cobra Club members (and Kirkham customers) helped to show the car. Kirkham received an enormous amount of help from Steve Sunshine and Ron Richards to organize the event.
KMP502 Cinema Vehicles used in the filming of a movie that is not yet released.
KMP503 Cinema Vehicles used in the filming of a movie that is not yet released
KMP0526 used to repair a wrecked Kirkham

I will add more tomorrow.

David

Thanks... just what I need. We will be taking the info that has already been loaded into the old Online Registry.

...still need to hear from everyone to get approval for inclusion in the printed version.

KMP092 Sold as a bare frame and body. Customer then sold the chassis to another customer who cut off the aluminum body and sub-structure and placed it onto a Shelby CSX4000 fiberglass car. The fiberglass CSX4000 body and sub-structure was then welded onto the remaining KMP092 ladder frame chassis. The Shelby CSX4000 fiberglass body and KMP092 ladder frame combo was advertised for sale for quite some time and changed hands at least one other time before it was eventually sold to a customer in Brazil.

So, in other words, it became a FFR?

Larry,

We can't comment until the movie is released--but I have no doubt you have heard of it. They were very nice people to deal with.

KMP444
Aluminum 40 Ford body and substructure. Used as a prototype to make the Copper 40 Ford GT. The body was made by hand to figure out the parting lines on where to join the panels together because copper only come in 1 x 2 meter sheets in Poland whereas aluminum sheets come in sizes all the way to 2 x 4 meters. Also, the body was used to make sure the wheels and tires from a 2006 Ford GT would fit--which they did not, so the copper car had to be widened while in production. After the Copper car was done, KMP444 was sold on eBay.

It has been really cool to see where all of our cars have gone and all of the cool people and things that have happened to them over the years. I can't believe we started in 1995. That is a lot of paperwork to go through! Glad to see another one on the road Ron!

E-mailed my info on KMP357. I know it was part of a two car deal that "fell through" for a piece of large shop equipment. Maybe David can chime in on what the second car was to be traded and what the piece of equipment was .

Sal,

I don't remember what the piece of equipment was. When did you take delivery of your car? Maybe that will shake my memory.

CSX700?,

The "13 myth"

I don't know why they thought KMP013 in the 427 cars was bad luck so they didn't make it, but KMPS013 was not back luck and they did make it. I think it was because KMP013 was actually the 13th car made so they didn't want to make it. Now, why this didn't extend to car KMP014 which actually WAS the 13th car to be made...

Oh well, who knows. I so young and dumb in business, (business laws, foreign laws, US laws, foreign taxes like you can't believe, US taxes like you can't believe, contracts, suppliers, etc.). I was only focused on getting cars done and I was happy to get cars at the time so I didn't pay much attention.

David

I started discussing getting a car from you towards the end of 2004, which is when you said KMP357 became available.
