Default Attn: All Kirkham Owners

About a month ago, I posted a request for all present and prior Kirkham owners to submit information about their cars for the Kirkham Registry. I indicated a sense of urgency to gather this info...since the data would be published soon. There was a reason...

In an announcement today from SAAC:

It is important to include as many accurate details in this book as possible, and those details must come from the car owners themselves. So, we are requesting your assistance in providing us with details of your car that we can include in this book...

...We must have (this information) before November 30th or else we cannot guarantee that details on the individual history of your car will be included.
I will be forwarding to SAAC all the owner data that I have collected up until now. If you are an original owner, you should be receiving your packet from SAAC requesting the historical data soon.

A Kirkham Cobra Owner Information Form from SAAC is available if you are a current owner, but not the original purchaser. Send an e-mail to registry@kmsac.com and I will forward to you the form and directions.

The clock is ticking...we need this info to meet the deadline for publication.
Pass the word to any Kirkham owner that you might know, who is not online and may not see this appeal.

Contact me if you have any questions.

Me too. Glad I saw this as I thought that it was a request to renew and might have overlooked it.

Sure...just from the 'cool' factor.
It doesn't change any DNA of the cars, though.

Only the SPF "Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe" will have a section in the Registry.

Just wondering, does anybody else suspect that this has as much to do with SAAC keeping track of Kirkhams that may morph into Shelbys than anything else?

Obviously, several have already been used to extensively repair / rebuild original cars, and at least one plastic 4000 series is now wearing an aluminum skin. I've heard that another KMS car was "upgraded" and given "Shelby" status (someone with personal knowelge of this can feel free to chime in here).

In anycase, us Kirkham owners can take pride in our cars no matter what. If SAAC wants to welcome us because the cars are such perfect reproductions...great!! If SAAC wants to recognize us because our cars are so close to original that there is concern that they may become "original"...great!! At least it recognizes the quality and accuracy of the Kirkham.

Given SAAC's history, I suspect the former. Is there anyone out there with firsthand knowlege of this?

Yes, this is clear.
Just like SAAC has made sections for the MK IV and the Autokraft cars, they can then provide an audit trail for all the known aluminum cars.

I guess I have to chime in on this one also, questioning the point of KMP cars in the SAAC registry. It just doesn't make sense. The "keeping track" reason doesn't make sense either. What are you keeping track of? If a KMP (or any other car for that matter) was used to repair a CSX car, or to make an air car, what does it matter what was PREVIOUSLY on record for that car? It's not like the owner of that car is going to submit info to the registry that he just illegally used that car to make into another car. So whatever is written in the registry about that car beforehand means nothing. Same goes for the Autokraft cars, although I feel they have a legit place in the registry because they are AC.

Just seems like a waste of paper to me.

What about the Superformance cars now being recognized from Shelby?

If I were to own any CSX car I would be pissed.

Next year when the FFR bodies are all made after Dick's car and they are used to repair plastic CSX cars because it is cheaper and the bodies are better- Will they be in the book?

I think it is definetly how "the Man" is keeping an eye on us and about doubles the book market at the same tiem.

And all of us can't get our info in fast enough!

I love this, you pay to be a sponsor so you can have a sale. You pay to be a sponsor so you can have your cars in the SAAC reg. Nothing changes, these guys would do very well in DC. I should send in a check so our cranes can be in the reg.

Kirkham Motorsports is now a Corporate sponsor of SAAC (Shelby American
Automotive Club). To celebrate, we are having a SAAC sale!

For a limited time we are offering our $39,995 427KMS/SC package + $19,010 of
our most popular options for $49,995

THAT'S $9,010 IN FREE OPTIONS!

This is assembled, wired, mounted and rolling. Add a complete FE engine and a
Tremec transmission assembly, fill the brake system, give it a final alignment
and it's a driving car!

What's included? Everything from our standard package AND the following options:

Aluminum hood scoop, stainless roll bar, aluminum jack hooks, front brake
scoops, polished stainless heat shields for foot boxes, ferrules, wheel well
foam (loose), nylon carpet (loose), billet brake & clutch pedals, steering
wheel, leather covered dash, driver's side fresh air vent, battery & mounting
tray, battery cutoff switch, FE radiator tubes with hoses & clamps, billet FE
motor mounts, fuel filter and fittings, stainless steering shaft and u-joints,
mild steel FE side pipes & header tubes, (requires welding), Tremec transmission
mounts, Tremec shift lever w/ adapter, shift knob, Kirkham aluminum
differential, differential breather hose, drive shaft, half shafts, drive shaft
safety loop, Penske non-adjustable shocks w/ Hyperco springs, billet brake &
clutch reservoirs cans, assemble to complete roller, preliminary alignment, side
pipe cutouts.

The other 427KMS/SC options are still available, so you can add them at the
regular list price, however with this special pricing no credits for
deletions are permitted. For more information visit our web site at
http://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/49995/index.html or call us at 801.377.8224.

If you have ever thought about buying a Kirkham 427KMS/SC now is the time!

This special sale price will end September 30th 2007

I already sent info, including photos, to registry@kmsac.com. Do I need to send the same info to SAAC in response to their snail mail request?
