I don't have fact one to back me up , but I would think one could get the tubes too long. I'm thinking there may be a optimal length. Kinda like running out of suck if you will.

I( called and got a lot of info Friday, the only only one that I believe is going to fit is the low profile 14" airbox, even that thing flows about 900!!!
I wish it had the 120 degree intakes though, I am not wild about the 180 deg inlets.
I am calling them again tomorrow to get a final tally on what I need, also more info

David:

I had considered a similar system, but had not actively pursued. In the Spectre news release:

" Better than a turkey pan these innovative kits bring the advantages of cold air induction to any enclosed engine, like a Cobra for example. In fact, for every 10 degrees F that the incoming air temperature is reduced, the engine will gain 1.5-2.0 percent in both torque and horsepower "

If you arrive at a configuration from Spectre, please post the part numbers etc., etc.,

.........thanks

As I said in my post, about 900cfm, that is just about twice what the turkey pan /air filter will flow!!! Then add the temp reduction, it is a no brainer...the trick is making it look good in our Cobras!
Where exactly did you get that quote from, can you post a link so I can read the whole thing.

The very brief product announcement is in the current hard copy issue of Kit Car Builder, page 56, " Parts Bin " " compiled by Dan Burrill " , did not do a search on their web site.

Other info mentioned:

" The incoming air-heated by the radiator, engine and exhaust-can reach temperature of 200 degrees F. By using this air intake you can duct in fresh air and realize tremendous horsepower gains. Speed by Spectre's proprietary Muscle Car Cold Air Intake Kits come in AirBox or Plenum based styles and start at under $200. "

Difficult to determine whether the choice of words originated with the author, Dan Burrill , or he is using a Spectre product announcement release, nothing in quotes.
