I guess I am one of the have nots. But I do have the knowledge to build my own engines, maintain everypart of my car except for the paint I leave that for the show and shine types.I also have the ability to outdrive an awfull lot of the guys with REAL Cobras. Money can buy you the best car but it can't teach you how to drive.
Come on Evan when you trailer your car from NJ to LI for an oil change you don't think those guys are laughing there asses off at you.Guess how we know.

BTW would I love to have you car? Of course I would. It is one of the finest replica CSX cars ever built. Just because it's owners is an asshole is no reason the dis the car.

Have a nice day.

A$$hole? Ouch! Back to calling names again are we? Basic response from you and your buddies. You really don't know how to respond on topic and resort to personal insults. I understand.

But...it just so happens ALOT of guys trailer their car to HRE for various service so you can laugh all you want. Just so happens I do my own oil changes thank you. In fact, believe it or not, I did the following my self: flushed and changed by coolant, trans oil and diff oil too!!! Wow!

When it goes to HRE for things that I can't or don't want to try and do beyond "oil changes" like this past August I sometimes have the oil changed while its there. Anyone who said it was there for just an oil change wasn't accurate to say the least. So you don't know very much. So you can laugh all you want. In fact I think its funny that you think it was there for just an oil change or at least the idiot you got the info from thought so.

As for your driving skills. Word is my grandmother is faster. Last time I saw you run open track you were getting passed like you were in reverse. Then again, maybe you were?

And btw, congratulations on your mechanical prowess. Very impressive I'm sure to someone but not to me.

As to my Cobra. Why, thank you. I agree on all counts. (1) It is exceptional, (2) and yes you are correct, you are a "have not" with regard to the CSX and wear it on your sleeve (3) I'm sure you would love to own my Cobra (as evidenced by your skin tone which is clearly a very nice shade of green) and there is no basis to dis the car (except for you repeated referral to it as a "replica" but thats ok, I take it from whom it comes and from you it doesn't count for much). Agreed.

You have a nice day too!

Can we return to the topic of the Big Buck Cobra now????

... Finishline seems to be selling CSX 1003 for $49,000. What's up with that?

CSX 4039

The $49K is in regards to the 4000 series Cobra's. For some reason, they
listed pics of CSX1003 near the 4000 info. Not sure what the AC's are
going for as a roller?

Evan...this has nothing to do with Shelbys, haves and have nots or even assholes.

This is about a shop that keeps making promises and not delivering. If they can get folks to be suckered in and pay for the hype...hey, there's some mustangs in Texas I'd like to sell them.

Off and on there is talk of Shelby using other than Kirkham as a supplier for the alloy body. Who, other than the K Brothers, are currently supplying Shelby with alloy bodies (if anybody)?

I have heard they are using some of the old guys in England. I imagine with the pound/dollar ratio as bad as it is, they are EXTREMELY expensive and probably in very, very low numbers.

Mr. Kirkham,

Thank you for being ever so polite by pointing out that Evan has once again placed his own foot in his own pie-hole! This brings special joy to me, because Evan has left me with the impression I am not allowed to share opinions here since I don't even own a replica....THANK YOU SIR!

I do grow tired of the bashing, companies, people, whatever...

Yes, I do it myself on occasion, when needed and not often. But to just 'pile on', thats sick.

There seems to be a constant, common source of self egrandizing eliteism. It should be ended.

None of us here can buy the quality/quantity of cars that one person here can. What a joke!

Wow! This is the first I've heard of CSX envy. Last time I looked, my wheelbase was 90". Do I need an enhancement? I feel so ... inadequate.

Me too. I don't have it. Probably never will. Just heard too many less-than-positive things about the finished product.
And no, this "have not" has no jealousy. Unless you have one of the 60's originals. Even then, it has nothing to do with the quality of the car, just the historical nostalgia aspect.
No envy or jealousy for a modern day CSX (geesh, I almost said replica CSX), especially that overpriced Comp Car, much more like pride in knowing I got the best value, following extensive research.

Sal's bottom line...

- this is a race version car, with a special chassis and all the goodies.

- race cars cost more money.

- the price of the car is probably close to legit for the way this car is built.

- in the end, whoever buys this car, has an expensive, useless "race" Cobra, as it doesn't seem to be a car that meets any legit racing class specs

2 years is an load of crap from roy, again . they have cars in there longer than that .all they seem to do,is take deposits and rarely finish the job. till the customer is mad . ask roy about the law suits they have allready lost and dont care to settle up even then .its all at clark county gov site .seems to be problem with irs also so watch out. there new web site shows cars built well over 3- 4 years ago. same with the pics of employees .tom from toms motorsports is shown laying out the first challange racer .with two other employees, that no longer work there. they all quit due to the anal dan. who seems to even run roys business the way he wants. how do i know worked there 5 years my self .left when pay checks were bouncing, and cutomers were so mad . i built the car of the cancer victim. they were hoping he would die first ,along with another cust, whos wife did pass away ,but not before he took the car out of there and finished it him self.i got more lunch is over, call me at 702 348 4638 for more.i dont discriminate i hate everyone.

Damn....

A little disgruntled are we Mike? Please tell me you don't think for one moment that any of us believe Roy and his crew were hoping a customer would die? That's pretty low. I know Roy, and and I know they're very slow in their builds. I also know that many of Roy's customers are repeat customers. I was one of Roy's customers, and I would do business with him again as well. Whatever you might feel about their business, I would prefer that we stick to the thread topic, rather than the personal attack.
