Driving in rain

I'm a new owner of an SPF and and as this is my first real sportscar of this caliber, I have is about driving in the rain.
Do I have be careful about getting water in the hood scoop and getting my engine/air filter wet? If I am out inthe rain, should I put a piece of foam or something in the scoop to stop that from happening?
Just wondering.. Thanks
