Since the transmission is out of my car right now, I decided the timing was right to have a quicktime bellhousing installed. While the odds of catastrophic failure are low, it's cheap insurance.

Doug, that's great. I bought one too. It's sitting right on top of my Tremec box in my garage collecting dust.

The guy who did my install as done a bunch of Superformance builds. In 5 years, he said that he had heard of one scattered clutch, and it's my understanding that there was no damage to the inside of the car (everything was contained in the bellhousing). Also, the failure occurred on the track.
That being said, I'm kinda partial to my legs.

The quicktime bellhousing could pose a problem with big blocks since it lacks a starter pocket. The Kirkhams have to trim part of the starter rim area to clear the frame with the Lakewood housing and I don't know if you'd run into clearance issues. The Unique doesn't use a round tube frame so you may be OK.
Something to consider, the Lakewood can be trimmed if need be.
I'd check with Unique about this...

The quick time housing fits just fine in the Kirkham without any trimming.

I put one on my small block this summer, it seems smaller than the factory unit. It is nicer looking and provide more protection than the factory unit.

Sorry for butting into the thread but I'm trying to get in touch with Ronbo,
Ronbo
I am in Jacksonville, let's talk sometime. I'm working on a Hi-Tech car with a CSX4000 body. Sent you a PM a while back and never heard from you.

Ya, sorry about that. Kirkham had a bump on their orders so mine's on it's way earlier than I expected and I've been trying to get things ready around here. Rich should be delivering it next week and I still have years worth of junk in the garage...
The term SNAFU comes to mind...

Let me know when it comes in, I'd love to see it. I would really like to get an idea (by looking at your car) where my big block frame mounts need to go.
This is more pressing because Keith Craft just called and said my engine was ready to ship, kind of like you - earlier than I expected.
I live in Mandarin, where are you?
