Default Cobra parts on Ebay

There's an original "Elliott" windshield (item #280245814693) which is correct for a SB car as well as an alternator bracket set (280245852299) again for a SB car. Just a couple of days left. Tom

OMG...

reproduction alternator brackets STARTING at 450!$

Holy CREPOLA.

From the EBAY Site

"This is a newly reprduced 289 Coba alternator mounting bracket and adjusting arm assembly. These were used when the cobras were changed from the generator charging system to the alternator charging system in 1964. These have not been available since the '60s and were unique to the cobras only. If you are converting your early 260 or 289 cobra to a alternator charging system this would complete the factory conversion look. the mounting bracket is made from a steel casting (for strength) versus the originals iron which is undetectable. The casting also carries the original foundry marks. the adjusting arm is made as the original. This assembly can also be used on many of the kit manufacturers also, Kirkham, ERA, etc...for that original look. The photo is of an installed assembly, you will be gettting new parts. "

450>????

WOW! Yes I think their nice too! BUT. I wonder why they didn't cast them in aluminum? That piece would have to be 15lbs or so! I believe my "stock" set up will be fine and you no my car doesn't even know the difference. I could only name a few or even one that would even know what that was (originality). I like all those great parts but at the end of the day no matter how many "original" parts I have, it is still a reproduction car. Thanks, Matt.

Guys:

The person that replicated the parts is a member of this forum, and is in the final stages of a very accurate FIA car. He put a lot of time , $$$ and energy into replicating the parts. It was not an easy task. The originals were cast in steel or iron also. They were intended to be for those that wanted a dead nuts accurate FIA smallblock motor using 48IDA carbs. The person deserves credit for his efforts. He made a small production run of very accurate parts and is attempting to sell the remaining stock and recoup his investment. They are not intended to be for everyone, and an alternative installation can certainly be achieved. Plese don't run the guys efforts into the ground. Respect his intentions.............
