I'm in with the good karma crowd also. I still believe if you help someone it will come back to you in one form or another.

As am I, however an appreciation for the fact that not everyone is motivated by altruistic sentiments is what afforded many of us the wherewithall to buy our Cobras in the first place....

Default always another car out there

Unless you are trying to get the really rare one, like the winning FIA coupe or something. Back in the early 80's, i wanted a Triumph TR8, just kept looking at them, then found out Standard Triumph was going out of business. So it looked like my hope for a TR-8 was impossible, so found in Denver, where i was living, a pre-production TR-8 coupe, with an automatic. Figured it was this one or none, so bought it out of the back of a warehouse, with a promise that i could contact a guy "who has a kit to put a five speed in it for $400 bucks."

So bought it, called the contact, who said "huh, don't know nuthin about such a plan."

So i was stuck with a sad Triumph, but a year later, bought a pristine semi-race Huffaker prepped drop-top, rollbar, stuff like that, had a hard time selling the Coupe.

Loved that second TR-8, until in true English fashion, it had a fuel leak in the garage, which caught fire, burned down my garage on Christmas Day, '83.

It was nice while it lasted. But even a quarter century after the 2000 TR-8's were made, i could get one in a week.

I once too thought "it is now or never", and it cost me dearly.

Looking back, i think the only things that come along once in a lifetime are wives. Although for me, it has been twice. And i should have passed on the first one anyway.

Now or later, hope it works out for you.
