Shelby American did provide a contract to AC Cars to build and sell a separate model Cobra for Europe. This began with leaf spring cars completed near the end of 1963. ACC received the engines and transmissions from Shelby.

I own the 3060 that Mike McCluskey built and from whom I received most of my info about the (2) 3060's. As background, Mike built only 8 of a planned 43 completion cars for Shelby. The chassis, body skin and suspension were built new in 1990 to 1991. NOS parts used were lights, switches and other electrical parts. Engines were original date-coded '65 and '66 components with block,crank, heads and manifold being the core items, completely overhauled to zero-time specs. Trans were original units overhauled to new specs.
The fake 3060 originated as an early 1980 body and chassis by AC. The car was crashed in the mid '90's at a Malaysian recetrack. It was shipped to the US for repair but the (Japanese) owner abandoned the project. It had the number 30601 on the chassis, but Customs and the shipping company removed all identification. It was purchased at the shipping co/Customs auction by an individual in California who spoke with Mike about the car before the auction. Mike told him 3060 was already owned, but the guy went ahead and perpetuated the fraud by rebuilding, repairing, misrepresenting and then selling the fake 3060 at B-J's 2003 Scottsdale Auction for more than $250,000, which the Buyer probably thought was a good deal since the real 3060 sold in 1991 for $500,000. B-J planned to re-sell the fake 3060 at their 2008 Scottsdale Auction as a prime time car, but I provided them the facts prior to the auction and the fake 3060 was removed from that auction and sold at their LasVegas Auction last month. The person who committed the fraud is unknown except to B-J, and I suspect either he or B-J had to make up the 2003 Buyer's losses on the 5 1/2 year transaction.
I purchased the real 3060 in 2005 and had Mike do a "freshening" including repaint. The car is incredible work of art, and hopefully once again the only CSX3060.

Has it conclusively been established where CSX 3060(1) was originally built and in what year? If Brian Angliss had built it before Autokraft's agreement with AC in 1982 it can't be regarded as an AC.
