Doug, Yes, I too had to take off the the lower lever and rotate it on the splined shaft. I had to do this to move the lever towards the seat. I ended up moving the brake pedal as far forward as possible as well. The accelerator was adjusted to be parallel to the other pedals.

I had to do this (5' 2") in order to reach the pedal. They really set the car up for much taller folks.
