Default Winter Drive Time

55f today. It felt like California out here in the Mid-Atlantic area today. I got 2 1/2 hours in the Cobra. Sunny skys and cheap gas. Life doesn't get much better. That may help my withdrawal issues for a while. You don't have to live in the desert southwest or any areas prone to earthquakes. What a day!

Default Cobra and the Deere

Some may drive their Cobra in the winter occasionally. Yep, I run with my hardtop in the winter months, but my SPF is driven to work daily - rain, sun or snow. Winter driving is definately "exciting" in a Cobra, even after 7 years. The Yokohamas do a commendable job in the snow!!!

Hi, Dave!
One of these years, we will meet up at the Glen!

I don't believe that there are too many Cobras being driven in the winter (snow) here in upstate NY. I haven't seen another one yet

We have had a lot of brutally cold days this year, so even with the hardtop I need to bundle up pretty good. This time of year, most of the vehicles in the parking lot at work are 4x4, so the Cobra really stands out.

Even with the cold, people still roll their windows down when I go by!

Talk about patina! You should never wash it.

You have no equal. This thread can now be closed.

Hi Jim. I have been waiting for you to respond to this thread as I knew you had to be the winter Cobra King. I had mine out yesterday to go get gas. Started up after a little coaxing and ran great. I would have stopped at your shop but had to get home to wash the salt and crap out of the garage before it started freezing again. Went through some melting snow and the wet tires made things very interesting. About did a donut when pulling in to the gas station - Wow, lots of power. Got a lot of funny looks which amuses me and I know I amused a lot of people with my knit hat pulled over my ears and my gloves, heavy coat, etc. Part of the fun of ownership. Actually, high 40 degrees is very comfortable with a wool hat, etc. I will try high 30s next time if we get there before the 40s.

Don,
Glad to here you took your Cobra out! (I figured you would, sooner or later)

After driving all summer, it would kill me to have to park the Cobra for the winter. If you wait for nice days up here, you loose almost half of the year.

I do manage to wash my SPF most every week, at work. You have to be very careful about not getting any water in the side curtain slides, or you either get trapped outside or inside the Cobra, depending on when the window freezes

This is a great thread, and perhaps more Cobra owners in the colder part of the country will get out at least a couple of times this winter.
Jim
