Even if this were GIVEN to you it would be a mistake to invest a penny in trying to complete this build as without a MCO you can't register it (without a lot of trials and tribulations), you have no one to go back to for ANY service issues, it is a huge risk to try and build a cobra without a truly ENGINEERED chassis, and the resale value would be almost "0" for sure. There are too many VERY GOOD kit manufacturers out there, who have invested in ENGINEERING to insure that you have a solid, driveable chassis, and something that will be a genuine driveable, enjoyable car when you are done. Don't walk - RUN from this deal. Rick

No offense to anyone, but this is why I have to correct anyone that uses the term "kit" when talking about my car. A "kit" car can be very well designed and built, or it can be an abortion like this one appears to be. I would walk away if I were you. just my .02.

The other option is to find out what manufacture the body is. Then find out if they ever sold a frame as a weld it yourself kit. You might be able to buy another frame from them and talk them into an MSO. You will never know if you do not try.
Oh yea, find all of this out BEFORE you buy it.
If you find out that it was a home made chassis or if you cant get an MSO, you may want to post the same information on the scratch builders forum. They need to register theirs somehow. They might have the in's and out's on the registration for you.
Good luck,
Terry

I'll say it again as I have nothing to lose or gain in this situation.
Walk away from this one.
Plenty of others out there that are legit.

Vsloun,
You have received some VERY good advice here. This "kit" is a disaster waiting to happen. Look at Mr. Mustangs signature line in his posting, he has a very nice FFR for sale for the $23 - $24 thousand range. You can 't POSSIBLY complete this car you're looking at for this amount, and it's not a respected name like FFR. You can't go wrong with this deal.
As a disclaimer, I have nothing to do with FFR, and I have never met Mr. Mustang. However, FFR is a very well known and respected name in the industry, and Bill (Mr. Mustang) has been on this site for a very long time, has offered his expertise and help on countless occasions to all here, me included, and he is known and respected. If I were you I'd get on the horn with him and work out a deal. All his car needs is paint and you're set to go. This car you're looking at is a black hole. Bill's car is as inexpensive as they get, and it's a FFR, so you know that at least it's solidly engineered and resellable. Good luck.

Listen (read) what is said here. This is a nightmare, unless you get it for free, then it's just a bad dream. Buy a basic FFR or one of several good kits out there. Cobras don't come without some sacrifice (usually money). You get what you pay for, and if this car ever gets completed, you will not be able to register it. Maybe the Mustang is worth a couple of bucks. Don't look for trouble.
