Top of the mornin Dave,
for your pain, have you tried physical therapy, chiropractor of acupuncture ? I feel for you bro.

Back in 2001, my bro-in-laws sister Melony, was a bicyclist living in Dallas. Her and a friend were riding on the highway (which I've always think is stupid as hell) a truck hit her and her friend saw the whole thing but was too much in shock to remember what it looked liked as the dumb ass , kept going. She went face first into the highway. Her head was the only injury but, they did not expect her to live as her brain swelling was severe. She was in a coma for 6 weeks. She's had 26 surgery's just on her face because every bone was either broken or shattered. She has silicone pillows as cheeks, all false teeth, even her eye sockets were shattered. She bit off half her tongue too. If you looked at a before and after pictures, you would not know they were the same person. The surgeons did a fantastic job and she looks real nice, besides some scares. Mentally she's great but emotionally, she still has a lot of problems, as too be expected.

She is extremely intelligent and is the head computer programmer for IBM. They even set up her house with all she needs to still work for them. She actually wrote the entire programing for "Disney Europe". It's hard to imagine she had no permanent brain damage and thankfully, does not remember the accident and is a wonderful person.

Anyway, she gets headaches with really no medication relief, so she tried acupuncture, and that helps her immensely. If she feels one coming on, she can leave work at anytime and get to her acupuncturist, if she can, she gets immediate relief.

Sorry for such a long story but, she's a great woman and, I wanted to mention if you haven't tried acupuncture, maybe it could help you. I'll pray that you will, and that it helps you buddy.

Ok, now about the exhaust. My J pipes are fine but will have to measure them. They are ceramic coated from LS and are now very dull. I don't know if I can have them stripped and a new coat applied or not ? But, is they are smaller than 2", I'll need new ones made.

Will LS still make me a pair ?

Thanks bud,

Melony sounds like one hell of a woman, just like you're one hell of a story teller... It takes a whole lot of "The Right Stuff" to survive, persevere and come up on top like she did..

As far as acupuncture, I don't think they make needles long enough to strike a nerve with me. ...too thick skinned

Now folks, back to our "exhaust"ed discussion...
If it's the original J pipes then they are most likely less than 2". You'll need to get the new ones made before you proceed with the rest of the sidepipes/merge collector build. I think I remember Brian making a post on LS forum saying LS wasn't doing any more custom exhaust work. I called and pleaded for mine as you'll need to do if you have any expectation of him making you a set. If you make a post on LS forum asking him he'll probably reply no. I think they were around $250 or so for the pair. I'm sure they can be built elsewhere, probably by one of our Club Cobra forum vendors/manufacturers.

here's where I am otherwise..
I've got everything completed on the car, save the sidepipe install. The new 31 spline Dutchman alloy axle/Detroit rearend/brakes are all together and actually turn as they're supposed to. I put Stage 8 locking header bolts all the way around. Every nut and bolt on the car has had a wrench tighten it. Tranny fluid's been checked. I changed to ends on the adjustable upper control arms from a 10 degree off-set to neutral. It'll be all ready to go for next season, save a wheel alignment and polishing the Boyds..

Dave

I measured my exhaust.

Headers 1-7/8" or 2"
J-Tubes- 1-3/4"
Collector's- 3"
Muffler housing- 4"
Turn outs- 3"

Do you think of the results ?
Headers and J-tubes too small ?
