Quote from Ebay add,
"Don't let some POSER put these on his ERA or Kirkham Street Replica!!!"
Some people just don't get it do they?

I guess I should reread the add, I didn't see the line quoted.

It was removed from the original ad after the folks here started poking fun at the guy. That led to speculation that not only was he watching this thread, but that he came to the obvious conclusion that a sale to one of the morons that actually bought a Kirkham or ERA was probably his best target audience.

I see that now. Not a great idea to tick off potential buyers, eh. Marketing 101, I suppose.
Well, now that I know what he really thinks of me, I guess I won't be buying them after all.

It sounds like to me that he's selling off the orginal wheels now that he has the molds done for a run of reproductions. I wonder how much the reproductions will run. A fellow CC member sent me a link to a December 2008 ad for some Sunburst wheels in magnesium, but I must have missed the ad way back when.
If the price were right (to me), and I owned a street car, then I couldn't care less what the seller thought of me. At lkeast that sounds good in theory.

I generally would not post something like this but I could not get over that comment...He had them on probably a year or so ago for I think 8k. The other issue I don't understand is there are probably 1000 times more people who have replica's then originals so his comment alienates 95% of his market of someone who would consider buying them. I am sure someone who wants them regardless of the comment will buy them but it's a crappy thing to say...I know in the scheme of things this World and Country are going through this is not important but it's worth a comment...

These wheels would unlikely appeal to anyone with a replica, since it's highly unlikely anyone with a replica would pay $3,000+/wheel and hope for a 2nd pair to show up someday and if and when they do show up on the market, they'll likely be sold in a set of four. Sure, there might be one replica owner out there, but I think these wheels would appeal to the owner of a CSX3000 car. His market is very thin at that price level anyway, regardless.
428street, sure makes your buy from Fran Kress look like a deal, but having bought and sold many sets of wheels over the years, a set of four always seem to sell for less per wheel than singles and doubles.

I'm a poser?
Hey! I'm a poser!
How cool is that? Better than being a prick, like the guy selling the over-priced wheels.
What a weenie!

He says "Local pickup", guess he can't be bothered to ship them. So he's looking for a CSX3000 owner within driving distance of his house who needs to replace his "ugly" wheels with originals. Now THAT is a very short list of potential customers, VERY short.

I'm not commenting on his price, it is what it is and pretty much what I paid Kress for mine. I wanted them and I bought them. I know I paid a lot of money for them but it was emotional. I got 5 rims.
As for the traffic you're correct and I thought about that before I posted originally but no one has bought them yet so I guess that speaks volumes.
I wonder if he has a Cobra. My guess is no. Isn't it nice to be a poser.

Hey Frank we meet some great people in this sport. He's a small minority at the waaaay other end to us. I think he's working on the principle it doesn't matter what they're saying as long as they're talking about him. I hope that type of advertising doesn't work for him as it doesn't deserve to.

Frank
W/O posers or what I would like to say "Those of us with a Champagne taste and beer budget" Cobras would be unknown for the most part.
Guess the wheels you have from Fran were a deal?

I suppose he will have them again next year.
How does the buyer know they are the real deal ( and don't start that "is it real" stuff )?
