I guess I should reread the add, I didn't see the line quoted.

It was removed from the original ad after the folks here started poking fun at the guy. That led to speculation that not only was he watching this thread, but that he came to the obvious conclusion that a sale to one of the morons that actually bought a Kirkham or ERA was probably his best target audience.

I see that now. Not a great idea to tick off potential buyers, eh. Marketing 101, I suppose.
Well, now that I know what he really thinks of me, I guess I won't be buying them after all.

It sounds like to me that he's selling off the orginal wheels now that he has the molds done for a run of reproductions. I wonder how much the reproductions will run. A fellow CC member sent me a link to a December 2008 ad for some Sunburst wheels in magnesium, but I must have missed the ad way back when.
If the price were right (to me), and I owned a street car, then I couldn't care less what the seller thought of me. At lkeast that sounds good in theory.

Now if the guy just made some reproduction magnesium Halibrand Cobra II S/C wheels...
Then his phone would be ringing.

Well, provided they weren't $700/each.

It's actually easier doing business with people that dislike you. With them you're less likely to make the mistake of leaving yourself vulnerable because you know they would jump at the chance to screw you over.

Kinda like what the famous General Sun Tzu said back in 400 BC: "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."
