I think I tend to agree. no one stopped the man from taking the pictures.
and the story is out in the open now.
I think I read in a Wallace Weiss book that about 500 Series 1s were built but only about 240 were completed and sold. They were all considered 1999 models no matter when they were delivered. The remaining 260 cars never got engines. He doesn't know where they are presently.
So it makes sense that there are a lot of parts at the ready.
all we need now is a picture of ol' Shel standing over a hybrid motor in the shop, just like that old picture of him and Hurlock over the Ford V-8

Well, you have a pretty low post count to be complaining. I'm going to accept the moderators decision to remove my very mildly pornographic outtake pictures of the models with the Series 2 Green Bikinis and the Series 2 Green roadster.

There are spy photos of new cars all the time. No one has a copyright on the photos I posted. SCM leaked the story, go bug Keith Martin!
I think I may just post the pictures again.

Here are some pictures of a Series 2 prototype at SAAC does Vegas X in 2006.
I was able to tour the building behind the car at the time, which had partially completed Series 2 cars, but was told I could not take pictures in that building.
The guys giving me that tour claimed that the cars would be fully federal compliant as 2007 cars. I guess that plan changed and the new plan is for the hybrid.

What is it with "Ernies?"
Look...it can be assplained in one of two ways:
1. We tend to be shy about letting Club Cobra getting stuck in the middle of stuff. While I'm not sure the pics are a problem from a legal standpoint, the other moderator thinks it's too close to call, and we'll always err on the safe side for the sake of the community at large.
or...
2. Bite me.
Leave it be.

Jamo,
Do you think if I put about 6 or 8 of those "censored" rectangles that you use on your butt on my Series 2 Green bikini girl pictures that they might no longer cross the line?

According to that article... One can no longer order a CSX Shelby Cobra with a V8?
Only 4 or 6's?
It doesnt state a Series 1 or 2.... just simply Cobra... maybe I am reading too much into this.
I mean hell... why not just say only Chebby engines are allowed now!? Who is going to put a v6 or God forbid a 4cyl engine into a Cobra?

honestly, I didn't even notice that part of the article. I guess it makes some sense, the 6-cyl anyway. Shelby's engine company is now making smaller displacement blocks. Maybe they'll get even smaller.

You think about it, that's still a very good power to weight ratio. For sure there's more HP available for a V6 today than the old Hi Po 289's.
Might make a nice track or street car.

I liked the banner still hanging that claimed "Venture Industries and Shelby American, a good team" or some such.
Thought that one would have been torn down oh, say about 8 years ago.
And Amy, "Ford" has not seen these pictures yet.....so they are to be involved in a project with C4 Corvette suspension and Olds engine mounts?

I doubt that the Ford Hybrid power plant will use Olds engine mounts

Prima Aprilis 4/1/2009
It’s time to disclose this year’s charade. The “greening” of Shelby Autos.
I want to thank Keith Martin of Sports Car Market for allowing us to use his copyright logos for the modified SCM email blast and web site. Thank you to Amy Boylan for being a good sport and supporting our playtime. Thank you to Ron Richards, aka Computerworks. Above and beyond his normal income producing ventures, Ron designed all the 'tech’ stuff involved with this hoax and the hoaxes on the SAAC web site while playing moderator for a bunch of kids on several forums and designing and maintaining the SAAC web site. I know for a fact that Ron worked very long hours on these projects, and I thank him for that. And thank you to another moderator best known as

Until another time, EKANSA (A-Snake)
