Problem Solved.
Yesterday I replaced the old SAE 30R7 fuel hose in the trunk and replaced it with SAE 30R9.
I ran the fuel pump for a few minutes to check for leaks and then closed the lid for the night.
Guess what? This morning there was no trace of a gasoline odor !!!
Thanks again to everyone.
