This same thing happened to many, many Lonestars who built the cars about 2 years ago. You can go to the Lonestar forum and poke around. The story we got was that they would rebuild them at no charge, and their service is great, they stand behind their product. But, a lot of us who built our cars around 2005 / 2006 experienced these same issues. Some got frustrated and went to QA1's, but I believe it is a different height offered, great for 17" wheels, not so good for higher profile 15" (uncomfirmed). Some stayed with Aldan's because they took care of the issue without question and handled it at no cost. Nearly all of us during this time had leaky shocks within the first hundred miles. Someone stated that there was something made out of spec, or produced by someone with something sub-standard; but the thought was once it was rebuilt it was fine. Mainly everyone's rears were leaking, but some leaked in the front as well. Others just went with QA1, but that is an expensive option.

I have to send two of mine in for rebuild, and was thinking about waiting until the winter and just send in all four. If you built yours around this time, I would say it is very, very typical. You might be saving time and frustration by pulling off all 4.

I had the QA1s on my car for 8 years with no problems. They were 12 way adjustable and very easy to adjust. Took about 30 seconds to adjust the rebound on all 4. I also ran 15" wheels and tires.

I have had Aldans on the car since new. Many miles of open track and mountain road later they are working fine. I did remove, inspect and test them last winter since this leak issue has become urban legend. Maybe I just got lucky, I dunno. But its not broke so I'm leaving well enough alone. BTW, if I changed i would go with QA1's.

My car has had Koni since 1982, still worjking fine and never have leaked. They are more $$ but they are very high quality. At one piont I was going to replace with new technology Aldan's, glad I did not after reading this.

The first time I sent my Aldan shocks in for leak repair, Aldan told me they were sorry for the leak. They explained they had a valve problem from a certain vendor, but it was now being produced in house and should be ok.
They did not charge me for the repair.
The new valved set lasted less than 200 miles, but they did repair them the second time at no cost .... again.

I used them for a little over a year and finally changed them after the third leak repair. I have had no leak problems with the new shocks.
If anyone is interested, I have 2 #656 and 2# 754 Aldans for sale .... cheap.

So I would be interested....if in fact they are cheap. Not wanting to risk much.
Let me know what you would take and how to contact you. As mentioned I am new to the forum and just figuring out how to get around.
Thanks
