I'm not sure I agree on the the price issue. I have been pricing out both cars and the BDR is still about 10k less. I built 2 BDR's last year for some friends of mine and we had very pretty new 390's with mostly new parts, aluminum heads, etc.. They ran TKO 600's and were stock BDR's and they had just under 45K in a running driving car with stainless pipes and roll bar. These cars came with drive shafts, motor mounts, a safety hoop for the drive shaft and a battery already to go. I think the similar car in an SPF will be just under 55K. I think the SPF has some very nice stuff that makes it worth more than a BDR but you will pay more to get it.

Dean, how were the headers that you got with those cars? Most everything that I got with mine (#687) is beautifull but the headers are shiit.

I had an FE install and the headers fit well on one and not that well on another. The quality seemed to be ok on both. On both cars I had to adjust the motor mounts position and increase the hole where the exhaust exits the body. The FE engine has to go just in the right spot to work. I would also use a hydraulic throwout bearing with an fe because the supplied slave cylinder brackets didn't work. All in all it was a very easy build.

Not bad for a frog.
I've seen that car too. Briefly, mind you, he flew by me like I was in first gear. Really, really modified car. Purpose-built. Great fun video.

That is a BDR TD car. TD = Track Day. The street cars are known as RT3s or RT3Bs now.
As for the BDR vs. SPF price comparisons you can negotiate deals now on any brand so you have to compare MSRP to MSRP and decide what options are important to you if any. Most people when buying a 3rd car roadster don't find they need a top or heater in my experience. But they do need a quality V8 with some real HP under the hood.
