Your point is not lost here, which in it of itself is somewhat insulting, since it implies people don't understand (or are too stupid) your comments.

I didn't read or see any of the attacks on Ernie. However, I do miss a lot of threads, since I don't read threads that I have no interest. As I said previously, I think Ron and Jamo do a great job with this site, and there will always be occasions where people argue on a public site. It's bound to happen.

Also, I noticed that you did insert two references to what appears to be the only subject you show interest in here on this site.

Hey Rodknock read into it what you will. Some of the responses to my initial post say it all. Interpret them any way you want as will I. I think my interpretation is correct (as usual )

Patrickt: Nah. Why add more grist for the mill here. If you want some pics I'll send some to you in a pm.

Takes care.

I'm sure he meant he would embed them... unless I don't get any, and, in that case, you were right.

Default From my vantage point...

In response to the original post.... and about those who have been on ClubCobra since the beginning, there are possibly a few other things to consider that might not be so evident; especially to new users on CC.

Some have developed OFFLINE or "private" online relationships, which started on ClubCobra that resulted in the formation of events, regional clubs, regular socials and get-togethers and other private online websites and group forums. I just got back from one major yearly Cobra event this weekend, which was inspired by the roots and core of Clubcobra. The result was that we were all privately driving our cars together in person, rather than meeting online.

As a long term member I don't create posts or reply nearly as much as I use to on CC when the same topics are repeated by new generations who have not searched old threads for answers already provided repeatedly in the past years.

Also, the formation of other formats such as Facebook and Myspace have drawn a small segment of friends away to other forums as well as a medium to connect more privately.

Whenver something global or more public comes up about Cobras or Cobra topics and communications, my default source is still and will always be ClubCobra.com DC

Well that's a darn nice looking car. Evan is one peculiar goose... but I suppose a lot of us are, to one extent or another.

CSX 4206 is a beautiful car. All black coloring is a unique look (looks sinister).

The only suggestion I could provide would be for Evan to invest in a set of GY Billboards to perfect the look.

I didn't catch the make of your replica but it looks like they short changed you on the hood rivets.

Why don't we just change this to a Big Block vs. Small Block thread and I'll go make some popcorn.

Forgive me for posting 24 months after a thread began but I haven't been back to the forum in a couple years (since I sold CCX-3152 in 2009). I came back in today when I got a hit on a long since forgotten part I had for sale in the classifieds. I might still have the part, who knows.

In my case life got in the way. I didn't sell 3152 because I had to, a career change in 2006 made "spare time" for me something of a rarity and I found after 24 months in my nej job I had loogged fewer than 150 miles in my car. Walking past the car on my way to work at O'dark thirty and returning after night fell for two years was more painful than letting her go to someone who had the time to appreciate her. 3152's buyer was a former CSX owner that wanted to recapture his youth. I am sure he is enjoying her as much as I did.

My current line of work is a little more rough and tumble than my last and we have a large population of "motorcycle enthusiats" so what spare time I do have is still spent in the wind. I have actually found a bike that is much like driving a 427 Cobra. The XB Buell is a loud tempermental bile that can be made to produce similar power and torque with a 7,000 RMP redline but a fairly limited top speed. It runs hot, smells and pukes oil occasionally and makes me smile while doing it.

God I miss this place. Some say you can never go home again and maybe that is true but I've already decided my next car will be an modern FE based Kirkham. See you then...

M
