firebird raceway
Well, took the cobra to the nasa event at firebird on friday. I took my dad for his first race track ride. He said he was doing great until he looked at the speedo on the front straight. The new tko survived my driving, which is good news. I put new front pads on the day before. They seemed to not stop as well. I don't know if they need to bed in longer or if the cold temps and brake ducts were cooling them down too much as there is only one hard brakeing zone at the end of the front straight. The pedal would be hard like pad fade or when they are not warmed up. I am running the porterfield r4 pad. On the infield, I just tap the brakes and turn. My goodyear slicks front and rear were set at 23 psi cold and were at 30 in the back and 28 in the front when I pulled it in. Do you guys think this is normal? I was thinking about going down a pound or two. The car handles great. I passed the 911's, 930's, 944's, rx7's supra's, c5's and some beamers. I could stay with even the fastest cars on the infield. Once on the straight, it was all over. It was a fun day. Any comments on tires and brakes? scott
