All kidding aside, I wish some of you might post a picture of your fuel cells and how you mounted and plumbed them. I am replacing my my polyethelyne fuel cell with a aluminum one that has the pickups located at the back of the cell and the vents on the top. I am only concerned about the two fuel pickup outlets. My intentions are to go with the AN 8 fittings and aircraft braided hoses. I understand the vent and return outlets located on top of the unit. I just want to see how some of you guys plumbed up your pickups to your fuel pumps.

My rear sump supply lines go directly to the fuel filter on the right then to the fuel pump in front of that. All mounted low. It is a 15 gal plastic cell with an alum guard I had made to surround it.

Whoa!

Not too sure about those supply lines on the pics above, especially if used on the street.

My Butler (now Freddie Douglass') had the pickup mounted to the top plate, routed directly forward where the pumps were, then across the rear of the suspension and up along the frame.

Brian,

I have seen another set up similar to yours with the fuel lines coming out of the back like yours. Fed Ex should deliver my fuel cell today or tomorrow so I was wanting to get an idea on the plumbing before I started.

Do both of your pick up (supply) lines go to your fuel filter and then to your fuel pump?

Both supply lines go to the filter with one from filter to fuel pump.
As to the safety on the street they are a few inches in. On the pictures they look like they are more exposed than they are.
In reality any rearend collision the vehicle would most likely ride up over that area given how low the cobra is.
