When buying a helmet (SA2006), make sure you find a shop with a qualified person to help you with the fit. Each brand, and each style within the brand has it's own fit characteristics. A misfit helmet is worse than having none at all. Do not let anyone tell you any different. Race suit/driving gloves wise, I still prefer to try them on to see which one fits better than the others. double and triple layer better than a single layer unit.

All good info...just to add to it, if you plan to or even think you may want to go further than the yellow run group, plan now for it and buy accordingly.........

Down here where I race, the helmets are good for 10 years, seat belts 5 and starting Jan. 1st 2010, we all have to wear an approved head/neck restraint!!!!!!!!!

My seat belts and helmet expire this coming year, so they'll have to be replaced, but my suit is good to go....

If you plan to get a fire suit, look at the rating on it, they vary a lot...also the TTP rating......

Above all, buy the best safety equipment you can afford, this is not a place to cut corners...........
