Radiator Question
I installed the lower bracket per the manual. I then rested the radiator that I got from A&C, with it the leaned forward, resting against the bottom tabs. The outlet for the radiator looks to be an issue. The hose will run right into the steering column boot. Simply, I don’t have the clearance needed. Has anyone has this issue, and what was your fix? I’m thinking about seeing if I can get the radiator outlet changed to a 90 degree.

That obviously isn’t going to work. I know nothing about A&C but maybe they will address it if they can be contacted. Otherwise a radiator shop might/should be able to modify the outlet

Looks like it's on the wrong side. On my build the outlet is on the passenger side Check my old build site at www.priveye.com/cobra.htm

Still alive and kicking. Retired now in Jackson, NJ on a golf course. You know we lost Bill a few years ago, Miss him. Olsen is down in NC. Warm regards to you,
Roscoe

Bill,
I'm looking at my stats here and I can't believe it's been 25 years from when I first signed in at CC

Thanks. I looked. The outlet is on the side of the water pump return, so it’s on the right side as far as that goes. I bought the radiator from Ron, and it’s supposed to be match for the kit. I need to get some rubber radiator pads. Maybe that will lift it a little bit.

Roscoe, it’s been a long time since we spoke. I finally sold my car this past summer, 25 years. Do you still have your ride.

Maximus
Return the rad to A and C, order a special one from Griffin.
You can specify were you want your outlet on the bottom, and size, location, direction.
You don’t want a fill on the top, you do want a drain petcock on the bottom and I added on e on top to get the air out of the system

Rather than a top petcock consider having them tap for a #4 AN fitting and run a AN PTFE line back to a mounting high on your fill tank. Just a suggestion.
