For a street trans, the close ratio (2.95 low) T5-Z is hard to beat! The gears are just right for a 3.55 diff car, and it shifts like a Honda.
Bought mine new from Liberty transmissions. It was blueprinted, and had the .73 OD gear insalled. It's a better cruise OD than the stock .62. Trashed the factory shifter in favor of a positive stop Hurst, and filled it wih Moble 1 synthetic ATF. 15,000 miles behind a stout 351W with no problems.
Keep in mind, that Ford didn't equip any factory car with the close ratio box, so even if you have a used T5, it will need uprading with all he new "Z" parts and replacement shifter.
