Default edelbrock carb

Got the cobra fired up Wednesday. I bought a used Holly and I couldn't get it to work. Went down to pep boys and picked up a Edelbrock Carb. Fired right up and runs very nice. I can't get over how loud it is. There must not be much in the side pipes to deaden the noise. Just have a few things left to do. Lay some carpet and cover the dash, bumpers and windshield wings. Any body have a source for heat shield for the side pipes?

I made my heat shields. I took a 5" dia. x 24" long piece of truck exhaust pipe and Cut it in half lengthwise, deburred the edges and used truck heat shield mounting brackets (2 per side) and painted them flat black. Very functional and inexpensive. Any truck parts store can supply these items.
See my latest gallery pic and you'll see the sidepipes installed.

You just have to practice getting in and out gracefully.
