I thought "Mr. Pink" elluded to his similarity to the Steve Bushemi character in the movie "Junk Yard Dogs", a great Tarantio flick. I can see many similarities...

Thanks, Don, but before anyone else jumps on this I must add "skinny ass's notwithstanding". I'll check it out. tin-man

Say old chap, it's not cricket to do shots on yourself before the rest of your chums have a crack at it.

Steady on tiger, I was not doing shots on myself, if you read the comment its skinny ass's notwithstanding. The legal definition of Notwithstanding is In spite of, even if, without regard to or impediment by other things.

Remember Don said "but we think they are worth it for the extra room they give us" which presupposes he was referring to the "others" who are endowed with rather large rear ends, thus my counter proposition of "skinny ass's notwithstanding". Got it?

BTW in Englund, gentlemen such as me, sorry, I, never, ever, let their chums have a crack at it, far to may people of questionable sexual preferences in Englund particularly at the higher end of the cricket boys spectrum, sniff.

Cheers old bean and do carry on and be a good Chappie.

"Cheers old bean and do carry on and be a good Chappie."

Mike, Are you sure about this? Sounds like Nigel Bruce from a 40's Sherlock Holmes movie.

Sounded like a self inflicted shot, especially since Mikie put you on the "A" list.

Tinner sounds like he's getting nervous. He keeps explaining himself. Maybe Ratboy is rubbing off on him?

Now we know why he spends so much time with this inane group. He's homesick. Explains a lot.

Dan, your insight is to be commended, and you are absolutely correct, I am looking forward to when my everyday life is spent in the land of the Big Mack. For twenty-five years I have been building and ramping up factories here in Asia and for twenty of those years in China, typically the companies that I contract with have maybe one or two expats visit during the build cycle and the rest of the time its me, I, self, Jack Todd, head honcho, Da Lao Ban, working with the hundreds of locals, and yes I do miss my own type. Certainly not a racist remark but one of human instinct, people generally gather in societies consisting of their own ethnic origins, i.e. Scandinavian communities, Chinese communities, Vietnamese communities, Russian communities and all the rest of the ethnic people who seek solace among their peers. I believe this is due to a natural tendency of belonging and people gravitate to those areas. OK so why do I stay in China, its my work, I can absolutely say without any reservation I am jazzed at what I do. The notion of doing a deal with somebody while looking at an empty field and explaining to the owners I will build you a factory, ramp it up with equipment and people, apply all the correct protocols and procedures get you ISO complaint, establish distribution channels for your products and guarantee you will be making a profit within the third year, is a blast. The adrenalin starts pumping before the ink is dry. This is what I do..The down side is I do not get to see many Americans except the occasional few when visiting the main shopping areas.

The upside is, well, err, hmm, you can figure that one out by my posts on the subject.

Other than that, perhaps is a noticeable side effect, I have a tendency to be wordy whenever I communicate, it goes with the territory.

Oops seems I am explaining myself, must be getting old.

See y'all during the Christmas holidays.

Cheers, John AKA, tin-man

Hi Dan, ok I give up what do you mean by Ghai Zing, do you mean GAOXING? Gaoxing means "happy' in Mandarin? tin-man

Is this what they called you when you were in Asia: unworthy, illiterate, scum sucking, bottom feeding, carpet munching, white man? Jeeez they nailed you pretty good, huh?? :LOL

Here they calls me Da Lao Ban.. Da means big, Lao means old, Ban means boss. Sorta like we would say Stateside in "let's go talk to the old man", or "lets go talk to da big boss"".

There is another Cantones dialect word associated with foreigners here in China, it's guilao meaning: unworthy, illiterate, scum sucking, bottom feeding, carpet munching, white man? :LOL

I have never been called that, because its condsidered rude.

Hey AZ Cobra guys, we trashed the original post bad, so I suggest when I see everyone at Christmas we do a gathering at the Yogurt shop outa respect, first yogurts on me. OK?

Cheers, tin-man
