Speaking of car racing, The American Le Mans Series race at VIR is on Saturday beginning at 11:15 am (ESPN3). ASU football at 4:00 pm (ESPN2)

Have a good time at Tortilla Flats. Go Devils for sure. Played Karsten this last Monday (Alumni Day) and there was a twosome that wanted to play thru. One was wearing an Uof A hat. Guess they finished right after us.

Well we had a crowd in spite of a number of absences. Even Dale passed on college ball to show up. Good run some new faces. Some neat cars. Photos to follow.

Mikiec has been taking lessons from Danr: get an idea for something, get people interested, and then not show up. Whadda Guy!

Tiffany & I had a fun time and it was good to finally get to meet some of you.

Tiffany drove more than I did, but I enjoyed being a sight-seeing passenger for a change. The Apache Trail is incredibly beautiful, especially beyond Tortilla Flat.

Thanks all!

Dan and Bill,
Thanks for checking on me on the way back. My oil pressure needle was bouncing all around. I just replaced it 2 summers ago. These Factory Five parts are suspicious. Anyway, I pulled over to make sure I wasn't loosing oil. Fun ride.

Danr, car's running great....for the first 5 miles and then it gets 'way too hot. 220*240*. Run out of ideas.

A Ford Motor would take care of that.

I believe Jeff mentioned a fan for that Chebby. But then again with your luck the head gaskets are on wrong.

Try the fan first.

Scott,
You're welcome. Glad to hear it was nothing serious. It was a good ride yesterday. We need to do the back road up to Prescott next.

Try running it without a thermostat in it to see if it runs cooler. If not then try changing the temp sender. If that doesn't help, try changing the gage. My black car would say the water temp was 260 but the oil temp never got above 200. Not compatible. Finally changed the temp sender and everything ran within a few degrees of each other. Water was always a degree or 5 higher than the oil.

Thanks Danr: didit, didit, didit. A 25# radiator cap stopped the puking, but getting up to 230*-240* at 80MPH is still 'way too hot. Jacked the timing every which way, same for jetting. Thinking I've got a lean issue on some cylinders but not all served by the same plane from my dual plane air gap manifold. Still searching.
Mikiec, checked the head gaskets and they can go on only one way, otherwise the bolt holes don't line up.

Karl, What if you flip them side to side like someone I know very well did? They only fit one way on each side. You can swap them side to side and install them backward....at least on a FE motor you can.
