Tow Dolly?
I have just about finished the car and am getting married in California in June, I would really love to have the car there for some of the pictures. I was wondering if anyone had a car dolly I could rent? Will be towed my an Acura MDX and it can only tow up to 4000lbs so a larger trailer isnt going to work
Just let me know if you do and how much for a week or two of rental. Thanks!

What you need is a tilt trailer. Depending on the weight of your car you may be able to get under 4k lbs. I towed my car on one, once. It was just big enough to get the car on with a rating high enough to haul it. If you can find some of the old photos of old Cobras being hauled to events, some of the guys were essentially using a "very" stripped down version of one of these.

& all you do is use some rubber garden hose around the knockoffs to hold it on the trailer. Kidding!!!! I did use a trailer like this, though. Just make sure you have enough weight over the tongue or she will be dangerous.

When in June? Bob has first dibs on our trailer but you may use it if he doesn't need it then.

I'd be very concerned about tail-end ground clearance if I was using a dolly, 'specially if your FFR has the typical hernia-hanging-down gas tank.

"Drive the damn thing."
Mikiec, the last time I suggested that an owner should just drive his car, he called me an idiot, to think that he'd endanger his darling, by, gasp, driving it. (yes, it was Mister Bill, gofastoldguy) According to his posted bio, he has put an average 1300 miles a year on his car. How many trips on and off the trailer is that?

Who's the idiot?
Karlos...my comments were directed at the drive from the body shop in Yuba City to Phoenix. At that time I mentioned why drive it when the insurance company was paying for the transport home???? I guess the "idiot" reference applies plusshort term memory loss for you confused and disoriented folk!
I'm sure the groom needs something other than his Cobra in California plus maybe he's using it for his honeymoon drive up the coast.
Someday I'm sure there will be medication for your problems.
Love,
Bill

Oh No Mister Bill, there you go again, calling me an idiot, and you don't even know me. Maybe someday you will. Until then, keep taking you ADD meds and I'll try to remember to look for something for my idoiotcy and my selective short term memory loss. I did read that a surgeon in Sweden has perfected a plasticomy procedure that places a clear abdominal window so you can see with your head up your arse. You might want to look into that before you rear end anyone else.

He said he was just about finished with the car, so perhaps it will not be ready to drive prior to the wedding, but would still like it in the wedding pictures... O:-)

I was considering it but 500 miles through the desert is a heck of a shake down. I only have about 150 miles on the car as of right now.
I could but it would stress me out a little, and just would prefer not to.
The wedding is June 14th, but would take it 12th or so and be back the 16th.

The 2013 MDX has a 5000 lb tow capacity. You could use a regular U-Haul rental trailer and still be under max. U-Haul: Equipment specs

Sharing is fine Dave. I was trying to make the point that he can tow more than he thinks. Plus the road between here and LA is pretty flat and the speed limit in CA for towing is only 55mph. I am guessing your Serpent Express is about the same weight as the U-Haul. I couldn't find it's weight online.

I think I have a friend with a diesel and an enclosed trailer is going to haul it over for me.
Thanks,

Karl...I guess I don't have to know you judging by your poor responses. Try and learn to spell also. Must be nice to have a perfect driving record too! I envy you.
Love 'ya,

Mister Bill, I wondered about the "T", I lost sleep about it, and finally decided to leave it in. There's also a chance my spelling of plasticomy is incorrrect. Not sure. What do you think? You can probably refer to the information I'm hoping you received when you Enquired into the procedure.
