Yarnell New Year's Day

I haven't heard anything about this yet so I thought I'd ask. Is there a plan or am I going alone?

dave from mesa 12-12-2013 07:06 AM

Brrrrrr!!!

Karl Bebout 12-12-2013 07:09 AM

I know all about it but I'll be in FL.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 12-12-2013 07:56 AM

Dan, plan is to depart McDonald's in Wickenburg about 11am. After the sun has warmed us up a bit. Yarnell Hill to Restaurant if open. On to Prescott for some if warm. Or, if restaurant closed, back to Wickenburg for lunch. It's about 30 miles each way.
Mikie said he would get out an e-mail.

Thanks Pres pro-tem.. BobBro..

mikiec 12-12-2013 07:45 PM

I'll be there.

The time is good. The bikers should be done by the time we get there.

Gofastoldguy 12-12-2013 08:50 PM

Hey Pro Tem why don't we start at 0900 or 1000 when it starts to get warm? Just a thought.

Bob Broberg SPF667 460BB 12-12-2013 10:46 PM

As usual, we are trying to let the long distance drivers, like Mesa, at least start out above freezing. They have a long way to go. Plus the idea is a lunch not a breakfast.

Well said.. last time I made this run on New Years, I chipped the hairs in my mustache because they all froze and broke off.. Believe that? Well, almost.

The Ranch House Restaurant in Yarnell is closed on New Years Day. Jan 1 is a Wednesday and they are only open 4 days a week, Thurs - Sun. I called and confirmed. We could lunch in downtown Wickenburg at the Gold Nugget: Historic Gold Nugget Restaurant - Wickenburg - Arizona or Anita's Cochina: Anitas Cocina - Wickenburg, Az - 928-684-5777 Both have parking. I have eaten at both. And, we could call for reservations from McDonald's with a head count before we leave up the hill.

If Ralphie's in, I'm in.:D

I wish that I was in AZ to join up. But, I have at least 1 more winter that I have to spend back east. Maybe next year. I love the drive from Wickenburg to Prescott. I grew up in AZ. My family had a cabin in Crown King for years. Not a Cobra road but great for the dirt bikes I had.

Have fun, John

mikiec 12-16-2013 05:55 PM

I'll be there no matter the weather. The later start is needed as Bob stated.
I see the possibility of going to Prescott.

Danr55 12-17-2013 04:56 AM

"I see the possibility of going to Prescott." Too bad the Chevettes won't be there.. I'm sorry, I mean Corvettes.. I get them confused all the time.

Karl Bebout 12-17-2013 07:52 AM

Danr,

""I see the possibility of going to Prescott." Too bad the Chevettes won't be there.. I'm sorry, I mean Corvettes.. I get them confused all the time."

Don't know how you could get them confused. Their tail lights don't look anything alike and that's the only part of a Corvette you're going to be seeing.

Danr55 12-17-2013 08:49 AM

Ooohhh. That's cruel. Especially coming from the weed whacker. Really hurt me! Why would you talk like that? Sounds like an acute case of bow tie envy. Karl, would you rather be driving a Chevette or Corvette or whatever?

Fitz 12-17-2013 08:59 AM

:rolleyes:I must say when I saw the Karl machine it sounded "real nice".

mikiec 12-17-2013 01:09 PM

The Karl, just added more noise to the Chebby.
