Default Simichrome

I'm with Karl, I used it on my '49 panhead back in '68. I'm surprised it's still around after 45 plus years! 209

I bet a flitz cloth would work better for polishing a receiver.:

Flitz cloth was harder to find than simichrome.

I have it, it works as recommended.

I used Simichrome for 27 years, but I tried Flitz and I think it's just as good.

Dan,

Thanks for the offer. Let's see how the simi stuff does this weekend. I'll be polishing up the receiver of my 1860 henry.

Mikie
You sure that it doesn't have some kind of protective coating on it?

No protective coating. Most let it go to a mustard color patina. I like shinny.

That's one of the reasons I bought it. Plus I've wanted one since I was 12.

Model 1860. That would make Mike 12 that year...so about 165 years old? Nope. Mike can't be a day over 92..

Well let's see I do have an 1851 Navy Colt. So I must be older than you guys think.

Mikiec, bet there's some sort of protectorate you could use, after you get your shinny bling back, to keep the brass from oxidizing...or...wear gloves so your sweaty palms don't touch the brass.

Yeah, or better yet leave it in a case and never touch it.

I'm going to rack a brown ale into secondary tomorrow using my new 6.5 gallon glass carboy w/my auto siphon. It's an extract batch w/a 5.30 ABV.

Then a batch of Czech Pilz recipe is next up to bat in the fermenter!

Yum!
