Well Karl, you certainly managed to get it into a narrow slot. I imagine getting out was the major problem!

I dunno Karl, but I think a mild 307 with a 2 bbl carb should be in your future. You are lucky man in one respect, no personal injuries. On the other hand, well, I guess that needs to wait until you figure out what the pimp ho gold car needs.

During most of the trip Dan Shinn played "rabbit" but there was a great deal of time in the turns where Mike Foss was leading us with Hector then me behind. Mike did a great job. We barely kept up or he let us. That car is tight. I'm sure the driver had nothing to do with it.
Lunch was the normal cool except the restaurant ran out of Propane and had to move the food to another grill out front. Dan Shinn gave our waitress a ride in his cobra. I'm sure he had to clean the passenger seat. More stories to tell.

I leave and you guys trash 2 cars. I'm very glad everyone involved is OK. BMW rear end should be easy to find. Karl, let them total it. Get something with a smaller motor. My car has not left yet and you could have it for $50K. LOL.

Sorry about the ticket. I see the spirited driving award in your future.

I'm in Paducah and Ginny is shopping.

Miss you guys.

MikieC,
This wouldn't have happened if you were on the run with us.

I would have liked to be on the run with you guys. You need a slow driver out there at times. Mikie Foss leading through the turns is like following Mario Andretti. Mikie F is good and knows what he is doing on the twisties.

yeah I was hangin' it out a bit...car felt like it was on rails except an early 360 deg turn...that was a surprise, had to lock 'em up for that one.

Just realized I've got two G spots...the outer calf muscles on both legs!

Love those Mickeys!

Default Return milage

Just filled my tank. Drove all the way home from Springerville, 279 miles on one tank and still had just under 3 gallons left. Got 19.5mpg. Not bad for a big block. Judicial use of the right foot. Plus, it was downhill.

Bob,
I made about the same over the whole trip... that's with a .8 fifth gear.
I'm at 3200 at 75mph in fifth. For the nit pickers that's 18 cents a mile

I averaged 12.2 mpg.
Hopefully it gets better now that my carb has been dialed in.

We'll I just got the results of Charlie's tear down. Gonna have a shiny new rear end complete soon. Can't buy just guts have to buy a whole unit. Good news is it's just the rear end, could be worse. Have her back in a couple weeks. How about a redux?

You don't need a cobra to join us. I took my truck one year. Had just as much fun. You can still park right beside our area, get the room discount and attend the future infamous "PICNIC AT BILL & MARY'S." You also don't need to enter the show and can still buy T-Shirts. Or take the road trip to Oatman and the water taxi to Harrah's famous Saturday evening buffet and their Megaritas.

Karl is Lucky.. He's still veritcle and will have his car back and running in less than 5 years. Pete, sorry about the redux, but you'll have to wait until next year. You can take Broberg's place since he's announced he won't be making the trip again. (Wanna bet?).. You can make Laughlin though. That's almost as much fun. We play a game called catch Danr.. Dave and Bob B and Scotty all played it a few years ago and it was fun..

It was Dave, me and Dennis but you're right, the rabbit won.
Don't forget pull-overs for Grumpy Bob and Mikie C on other trips. Or tows for Mikie, Karl and me. Events happen.

You guys are getting old, can't separate your Coronados from your Laughlins.

Hint: Coronado is east while Laughlin is west, kind of like your right and your left.
