For all you guys with spinners on your wheels

Looks like an effective tool. I assume it is only used for removal? Probably can't tell how tight you're getting the spinner if you used it to put one on - didn't see any info on that question.

I believe the tool is only used to get the spinners off, to avoid hitting the rim with the lead hammer or breaking off an ear. Putting the spinners on usually involves hitting them until a sound change can be heard. There is an Olthoff youtube video that explains this.
