Calico's got good reviews on Trip Advisor and their prices look reasonable.

Glad its not the Dambar. My son just did a couple weeks in purgatory, there in Kingman, and the locals told him to avoid it.

My belly's too old for doing a scarf and barf at Golden Corral. I have 'way too little will power, would certainly over eat, and then feel very sorry for myself.

Bet BobB will smuggle in a to-go bag.....I'm just saying, the motel's breakfast is a bit weak.

You guys want to eat at Golden Corral, be my guest. After the 60 minutes thing where they put the food outside under a tarp for HD inspection then back in the refer after, I don't think I will ever eat at any of those places again....not that I have ever eaten there alot..

Wow, sounds like Danr is going to spring for your meals.

Isn't that what "be my guest" means?

I'll be over-nighting in Ash Fork Friday with my Hot-Rod buds from Maricopa, but will be partying with y'all in Kingman on Saturday night.
Ralphie, the party-pooper.

Hey guys, Rich here from the Texas Cobra Club. Sorry I won't make this run but I am very interested in hearing about the roads because in November I'll be on those roads in a 1917 Maxwell touring car. It is part of a 100 year anniversary of a cross country trip done by my grandfather. We are leaving New Jersey November 16 and hope to make Los Angeles in 12 days or less. Http://rtbassemir.com/1916-transcontinental-road-trip

From Flagstaff we will pass through Seligman, then Kingman, then taking exit 44 to head to Oatman. Since we will not be in the Cobra we can't do highway speeds. The Maxwell might do 45! Can you tell us if we have any options between Seligman and Kingman besides I40?

Any advice or insights about those roads would be helpful. We understand the road to Oatman is narrow and slow. You ever take that road with the Cobras?

Have a great ride!!

No other options, but the 66 is in great condition in that area.

Several times, it's a great ride.

Rich Bessemir, The 66 route from Seligman to Kingman is a fine, smooth road. On the Fun Run there are quite a few really old cars that put put along the route. Then from Kingman through Oatman and to Topock the road is good also. Have not taken the route beyond there in the past.

I will never eat at Golden Corral again. A few years ago we went there and the chicken was just passed over the grill and the steaks stayed on the grill for a week.

Sounds like just the way Ratti-Tat-Tat BobB like their protein, quantity out scores quality?

I have never had bad food at Golden Corral. What do you guys choose to eat? Maybe you could avoid the furry plates.
