Default Route 66 Fun Run

I know this is still a couple of months away, but if you want to get rooms, you should reserve now. I've arranged to block 16 rooms at the Kingman Travelodge, in the building in the back in the corner in the dark where we can be as obnoxious as we usually are and not bother anybody. The phone number is 928) 757-1188. The prices are the same as last year and the year before that and the year before that, ad nauseum. $55 for a single and $65 for a double. We only have 15 rooms left since I chose the best one. When you call, tell them you are with Arizona Cobras and you will get hooked up. For you new folks, this is one of the best runs of the year. We will leave Friday morning, April 29 at 1000hrs. from the Chevron station at Carefree hwy and I 17. Stop in Seligman to pick up the registration packets and grab a bite, then proceed on to Kingman for the evening. Saturday morning you have a choice of driving back to Seligman and being part of the fun run along Old Rt. 66 or staying in town and going to one of the biggest car shows in the state. Sunday will be what has been called the Salmon run back up old 66 to Seligman for breakfast and then home. So call and reserve your rooms before they all disappear.

Mikie, this year please see that Ginny's cookies get all the way to post office so Bob can share them on Friday nite. Thanks,

Default Fun Run 2016

Here are some fun websites for the Fun Run:
Route 66 Fun RunŽ
Arizona Route 66 Association
https://www.facebook.com/azroute66/?ref=hl

Great, relaxing trip. Fun in Seligman at Snow Cap, great drive to and from Kingman on Route 66. Lots of bench racing, music, burnouts, cigars and drinking in our own parking lot. Good food Friday night and Pizza in parking lot on Saturday.
This is something everyone should do at least once. This will be my 14th year. Weather usually cooperates.
Depart 10am Friday. Home about 2pm-ish on Sunday.

I have a room reserved, bottom floor with 2 beds. Looking for roomy. No, I don't snore any more (CPAP.)

Damn, I'll be on a bike trip to Cabo. I really do plan on making it sometime, it always seems I have something going on during that time frame.

Won't be the same without Scotty there, stumbling around, causing havoc.

Thank you Gary. I just called the Hotel and moved all of the reservations to April 29 and 30 and I've changed the date on the header.. I swear that when I looked at the page the first time it said May 6 thru 9.. No worries. All five reservations have been moved and we are set. Thanks for the head up .. And look at all the folks who are busy on May 6 and 7 who can go now!

Bat****! Now Rt. 66 is the same weekend as the real good FFR show at Huntington Beach. I'll be doing Rt. 66 and already have my motel reservations. Just won't be getting nearly the miles.

Danr,
Why are we leaving so early? Isn't 100hr 1AM? I thought we usually leave at 1000hr.

I'll be heading to Huntington Beach again this year so no Route 66 run for me. By the way. One year a few of us went on the Route 66 run the weekend following the official run. Same road, same sights but no problem parking, eating for finding a place to stay. It was nice, we were the show at each stop.

You still haven't changed the date on the Facebook page, it might confuse some of the older people.

Bruce, I don't see any date other than May 1. Where do you see I need to change the date?
